Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 11, 2021 Posted August 11, 2021 This brings up a curiosity: If a game is scheduled for seven innings, and then rescheduled (or continued following a suspenion), does it maintain the seven-inning status even if it is played on a later day without a second game?
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2021 Posted August 11, 2021 Well, thanks to the length of Game 1, 3:37 when both halves were added (not including the 1:57 daly Tuesday night) and a bit shy of three hours just for Wednesday's 7-1/2 innings, and now the rain delay following the between game delay and there's no way I'm going to see the conclusion of this one.Not sure I'm going to make it to the beginning ... assuming there even will be a beginning.Hey, maybe they'll wind up rescheduling for two again tomorrow!

The rule seems to dictate that a game will be completed at the length it was designated as at its beginning.Hence Game 1 today being 9 but Game 2 at 7
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2021 Posted August 11, 2021 Driving down for tomorrow's matinee. Knowing that it's now a scheduled Trevor Willams start, and not a Stroman start, is making me frowny.Maybe this nightcap gets rained out and Stro gets pushed back to his original scheduled start tomorrow...
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2021 Author Posted August 11, 2021 Straight double-header tomorrow, with the seven inning thing. Crazy.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2021 Posted August 11, 2021 Good news for Fboy and me! We get a minimum of 14 innings of baseball on a perfect warm sunny day! My first MLB doubleheader, in fact.

kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2021 Author Posted August 11, 2021 And don't try to bring in a backpack of any sorts. You can bring in a pocket-book up to 16" in length, but no backpacks!!
