ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2021 Posted August 5, 2021 What is this fascination with striking out.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2021 Posted August 5, 2021 If you want the upside of J Baez you're going to have to take the bad with it. That strike three pitch wasn't EVER in, or even near, the zone.
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2021 Author Posted August 5, 2021 Mets keep to script and load 'em up only to not plate a run.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2021 Posted August 5, 2021 Bases loaded, none out and they are vanquished by Braxton Garrett,
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2021 Posted August 5, 2021 The only way they were going to score after bases loaded, none out was a walk, HBP, WP or PB.

That strike three pitch wasn't EVER in, or even near, the zone.Baez is a bit of a moron.I suggest reading this comment from "Brian P." in The Athletic about Javy Baez (Josh Lewin read it on today's "Mets In The Morning" podcast):[bLOCKQUOTE]Been in love with the Cubs since 84, and Javy is easily my favorite Cub player. That said, I love the trade for PCA and am hoping it works out for the Mets, Cubs and Javy.To me, the true magic of Javy is he did things none of us have seen before. Tagging someone at second was static for 100 years and now kids (and other players) try to emulate a Javy tag. His base running/swim slides are things we never saw before, at least at the volume he could accomplish them. Even his pointing/checking with the first base ump on a check swing, as illogical as it is, is something no other player has done. This game is supposed to be fun and entertaining, and Javy is like a Fast and The Furious movie marathon. Will he drive you nuts, of course, but at least once a week you shake your head (mostly in disbelief, sometimes in disgust) and for that, I love watching him.[/bLOCKQUOTE]
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2021 Posted August 5, 2021 Four hits, only two of which have left the infield. And two of the four came in front of the pitcher (not that the non-pitchers have done better w/runners aboard).

Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2021 Posted August 5, 2021 16 LOBs in the last 8 innings
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2021 Posted August 5, 2021 Also, once again, the only hit w/a RiSP didn't actually score a run.And did anyone NOT know how that last Baez AB would eventually end?
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2021 Posted August 5, 2021 I'd say we're stuck with a bunch of warning track power guys except that their best shots aren't really reaching the warning track.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2021 Posted August 5, 2021 I'm sure that McCann is a nice guy, his wife seems nice, his twin sons are cute, and he can't be this bad forever but the thought of seeing him through 2024 is not appealing."2021 Contract Status: Signed thru 2024, 4 yrs/$40.6M (21-24)"I'd like to know if the decision to jump on his FA status and not wait for Realmuto was a Sandy move or something that Steve cooked up to attack the market.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2021 Posted August 5, 2021 Marlins now have only 16 replay challenges remaining.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2021 Posted August 5, 2021 New rule: if you waste our time with a no-chance challenge a fan of the opposing team can go into the opposing dugout (with a mask) and say "f**k you" to the manager.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 5, 2021 Posted August 5, 2021 Is anybody on this team not taking batting advice from Joey Votto?
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2021 Author Posted August 5, 2021 Rojas was hallucinating an arm tag? It wasn't even close...
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2021 Posted August 5, 2021 Our long [CROSSOUT]national[/CROSSOUT] local nightmare is over.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2021 Posted August 5, 2021 Be nice if Pete could dump truck this Hess guy.

My new one is that if a Mgr or PC delays the game so he can talk to his pitcher mid-inning and the next batter gets a hit then that team loses all mound visit privileges for like a week or more.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2021 Posted August 5, 2021 For someone who likes to swing a lot, Dom was awfully passive during that AB.
