Right. If he hasn't lost too much off his fastball (and the radar guns will tell them) he would now fit into the category of "crafty lefty starter". And there is always a place for that kind of pitcher on a pennant contender's staff. He last full year (2019) was good, and because of almost two years of inactivity (was he injured?) he's only "35".

Kick the tires, guys.

It's the plummeting velocity that's concerning to me, but I guess he's always been a changeup guy. But obviously costs nothing to look. Also that career high BB/9 in 2019 is troubling too.



Granted, we're desperate.
