btw, twas disturbing to hear Gary say last night -- Several Times! -- how much he likes the 7-inning DH's

Keith you more or less expect it from.

A week sitting next to Keith and Gary's caught whatever Keith has.

The wonder of Keith: The most intimately engaged and the most existentially bored guy watching the game.

Before the game, the pathetic WSH Twitter account "dragged" Lindor:

A HR and 3 RBI later, Mets Twitter account responded:

We always note when the Mets are on the "short end" when the schedule has the Mets playing on Sunday Night Baseball and then playing out of town the next day. The schedule works on the Mets side tomorrow as ATL now has a split doubleheader (with STL) at 2 and 7 before playing a doubleheader on Monday in Queens starting at 4:10. Who is this blonde guy wearing Ronnie's number and what has he done with Lindor?

With all the doubleheaders coming up, I wonder if they'll let Peterson stay in beyond the ritualistic "two times around the batting order"?

In a 9-inning game, you need to pitch 5 full innings to qualify for a "win" so that the SP will have pitched more than half the game. In a 7-inning game, the same rule applies so Peterson will not get a win even though he pitched 4 2/3 innings out of 7. This doesn't make sense.

No, it doesn't. But the way of awarding "wins" is based on a bunch of arbitrary rules to begin with.
True, especially because, if the Mets hold on, the "win" will go to someone other than the pitcher who got 14 out of the 21 outs.

The radio booth is chewing on a trivia question about which players have played in the World Series for the Mets who have the same last name as a US president.

Kelly Johnson is the guy they aren't getting.

Hey Mets, make contact when Guilorme is running.

I thought you called that before it happened, which would have been awesome. But I was just behind by a minute or so.

Soto is getting too much respect and regard from these lazy, stupid, umpires. They act like he has the strike zone judgment of Rod Carew.

And we'll see where that takes us

Well, so far, so good.

Why i wasn't named manager of this club years ago continues to baffle me.
