Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted April 30, 2021 Posted April 30, 2021 Alright you guys let's pull this one out. Not like the Phils deserve this one either
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 30, 2021 Posted April 30, 2021 Y'all realize, right, that the Phils are winning this game with three hits, all singles, two of which didn't leave the infield. We have six, half of which are doubles.
LWFS Old-Timey Member Posted April 30, 2021 Posted April 30, 2021 Good thing we pulled our cruising starter after 64 pitches and 8 Ks.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted April 30, 2021 Posted April 30, 2021 Let's see if the Mets can get 2 runners on and hope that the ump can kick away another PB!
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted April 30, 2021 Posted April 30, 2021 Well, Familia throws it almost everywhere other than where the target is. With a target in the center of the plate, Familia is likely to throw it in the dirt, 2 feet wide of the plate or on the black of the plate. The one place he is likely to throw it is right down the middle where the target actually is.
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted April 30, 2021 Posted April 30, 2021 Nice tag up by McNeil on that Alonso fly. Unfortunately, now he is in scoring position.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted April 30, 2021 Posted April 30, 2021 To quote Alfie Solomons Big f*s small
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 30, 2021 Posted April 30, 2021 Latter-day super-draining fields can be murder on outfielders when they need to come to a sudden stop at full speed. They plant, and the turf gives under the feet.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 30, 2021 Posted April 30, 2021 Any word on Harper's face? Are he and Realmuto available to hit?
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted April 30, 2021 Posted April 30, 2021 I suspect that Harper may be available to hit. His posts show that his eye is open and he states he is fine.
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted April 30, 2021 Posted April 30, 2021 Come on Dom. you ain't Superman,. Kryptonite won't work on you.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 30, 2021 Posted April 30, 2021 Alvarado/Smith would be a pretty even matchup.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted April 30, 2021 Posted April 30, 2021 Gary and Ron missed this but seemed like Dom went and got mad at the ump for strike one called after strike three swinging.
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted April 30, 2021 Posted April 30, 2021 Easy to talk smack if you're Alvarado and you never have to step in the box and worry about facing a high fastball. In the old days one of his teammates would either be taking one for his antics or they would be playing dodge ball. In todays game, their is little danger to acting like a thug.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted April 30, 2021 Posted April 30, 2021 Ronnie had enough with the Mets talking and doing nothing.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 30, 2021 Posted April 30, 2021 Pinch-hit deGrom in the ninth.#kiddingnotkidding
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 30, 2021 Posted April 30, 2021 And we're already over three hours in the 8th inning of a 2-1 game.
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted April 30, 2021 Posted April 30, 2021 I don't think Castro wants any of Hoskins. I think Hoskins could snap Castro like a twig.

The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted April 30, 2021 Posted April 30, 2021 going to the bottom of the 9th down 2-1. It will be McCann, Sacrificial Lamb, and Nimmo.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 30, 2021 Posted April 30, 2021 If we do get this to extras we'll be at a disadvantage because, y'know, the leadoff runner on 2nd thing.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 30, 2021 Posted April 30, 2021 Mike Schmidt would make that play barehanded every time.
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted April 30, 2021 Posted April 30, 2021 As Scarlet Cookie would say, "I hat baseball."
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 30, 2021 Posted April 30, 2021 This had better be the low point because it's tough to imagine lower.
