Y'all realize, right, that the Phils are winning this game with three hits, all singles, two of which didn't leave the infield.

We have six, half of which are doubles.

Let's see if the Mets can get 2 runners on and hope that the ump can kick away another PB!

Well, Familia throws it almost everywhere other than where the target is. With a target in the center of the plate, Familia is likely to throw it in the dirt, 2 feet wide of the plate or on the black of the plate. The one place he is likely to throw it is right down the middle where the target actually is.

Latter-day super-draining fields can be murder on outfielders when they need to come to a sudden stop at full speed. They plant, and the turf gives under the feet.

Easy to talk smack if you're Alvarado and you never have to step in the box and worry about facing a high fastball. In the old days one of his teammates would either be taking one for his antics or they would be playing dodge ball. In todays game, their is little danger to acting like a thug.

Maybe Alvarado felt that comfortable because he knew none of the Mets would hit him

When your team's marquee player is already out of the lineup after taking a 98-MPH fastball to the face, maybe it's best not to start something your teammates have to finish.

And we're already over three hours in the 8th inning of a 2-1 game.

It took WSH and MIA 3:02 tonight to play 10 innings (2-1 WSH, ugh).
