Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 Peterson doing the job on Harper. But the Mets have stopped hitting and their combustible bullpen awaits.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 So given that Denver forecast, the logical question is to ask who thought it was a good idea to schedule night games on Saturdays in April?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 Peterson end up hitting the road first.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 How many times has Familia walked the leadoff hitter in an inning? Then he gives up some squibby hits to give up a run? Seems like it's about 75% of the time.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 Here we go Loup de Loup with the lead on the line.My problem with Familia is that neither of his old backbreaking out pitches is there. So he got ahead 0-2 and still had to be perfect.
LWFS Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 LOUP, THERE IT-- oh, I can't do this
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 Wow, that double-play ball was served up so perfectly that it was almost scary watching them turn it.Loup brings salvation. How about that?
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 It certainly beats hitting a guy in the ass with a pitch!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 It's amazing watching the Mets get out of it on a double-play ball that I still think of as a single when it leaves the bat, and then seeing Smith get a single on what looks like a double-play off the bat. I still don't have that much instinct on where infielders should be playing these-a-days.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 Petey with a chance here, but lately he's been kind of like that dog that keeps getting thrown balls and bringing back sticks.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 The name "Coonrod" just sounds like it can't have a good story behind its coinage.

dinosaur jesus Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 I'm a little embarrassed to get that call upheld. Nimmo was out.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 Maybe Manfred has been reading the bricks I've been throwing through his window and has passed the word about not overturning coin flip calls.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 I think that's exactly what's going on. They're being told in Chelsea that we don't want you to remake the call. We want you to consider if it's clear and convincing that the original call was wrong. And then they underlined clear and convincing, and they're hoping that, after a few disappointments, managers will lower their standard on when they'll make their appeals, and make fewer of them.At least, that's my impression. And I think it may be working.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 Will Diaz be good, bad or ugly?
Chad ochoseis Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 The Mets have suddenly become a good catch-and-throw team.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 Guillorme is still learning third base, and I was thinking he was mostly wasted there, but man, he might really end up being good.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 Realmuto has shown a great all-round game as a Phil so far, but it's sure nice to see McCann be the better catcher for tonight at least.
