Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted November 8, 2020 Posted November 8, 2020 Here are the 2020 numbers. https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/catcher_framing?year=2020&team=&min=q&sort=4,1https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/catcher_framing?year=2020&team=&min=q&sort=4,1I don't really know what these mean. But it suggests James McCann got much better than he's been in the past. Was surprised to see d'Arnaud so low on the list. I always thought this was a strength. Ramos, as expected is low. Chirinos, brought in for defense, was even lower.
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted November 8, 2020 Posted November 8, 2020 Ooooo, one of my favorite subjects!a> the horizontal strike zone is the of course home plate.b> catcher catches a pitch out of the horizontal strike zone and moves his mitt behind home plate. c> the ump magically forgets that it's where the ball CROSSES THE PLATE.d> said catcher is a sabermetric hot find.
