GAME 6

Max Fried is getting fried in the bottom of the 1st (as usual, I'm watching via a slight delay so I can FF through the dead spots).

3 runs including 2 solo HRs (Seager & Turner) and he's not out of the inning yet.

(now he is)

If LA wins, Game 7 is tomorrow but apparently Joe Buck will not be there as he has to do the NFL (GB @ TB, Rodgers and Brady, going to about half the country: https://506sports.com/nfl.php?yr=2020&wk=6https://506sports.com/nfl.php?yr=2020&wk=6).

If I ran MLB, I would insist on FOX using their #1 announcers for every game of the Championship Series but apparently MLB does not make this a condition of their deal. In contrast, Buck and Aikman are required to call every Thursday NFL game even if it's on the NFL Network.

I don't know who I dislike more.

LA - because, or

Atlanta - for gagging on the opportunity to oust LA.

Hmmmm,

Nah.

It will always be LA.

[referencing the time of game discussion from the AL thread] ... the gap between the manager signaling for a pitching change (first in-inning swap of this game) and the first pitch to the next batter: three minutes. That's half again as long as a mid-inning break in a reg season game. Knock out the extra warm-ups that come on top of the actual warm-ups and you could easily cut that gap in half.

3-1 Dodgers, end of seven. Game approx 2:45 long right now.

Game 7 tonight at 8:15 Eastern, with Some Guy stepping in for Joe Buck (it's only Game 7, it's not as important as any NFL game) and John "I know everything and I'm going to tell it all to you" Smoltz on FOX.

Two rookie pitchers, a Game Seven first, I understand.

Joe Davis, the Dodgercaster, is sitting in. Buck's priorities (and Fox's) are misplaced.

How do I put this nicely about Dustin May?

Let's just say that I don't expect him to be the next contestant on 'The Bachelor' or any of those other dating type shows.

FOX is also running the game on FS1 in case the football game (and mandatory post-game mico-analysis) isn't quite over by 8:00 .. cuz, y'know, football games have more than their fair share of dead time too.

Two hours = 4 innings.

The culprit here has been a massive amount of pitches thrown by most of the (five) pitchers used thus far.

Ian Anderson (ATL) - 73 pitches thru 3 innings

Tyler Matzek - 27 to get thru 1

Dustin May (LAD) - 17 thru 1

Tony Gonsolin - 41 thru 2

Blake Treinen - 14 thru 1

3-2 Braves, top 5

Bellinger just took that comment and parked it in the right field seats. :)

... and the horse he rode in on.

Did he pose crossing home plate, or did he just smile?

He seemed to smile quite a bit after parking that comment in the right field seats for the home run that sent them to the World Series. :)

Braves will stew all winter on that dumbass baserunning

Yeah, what a clusterfuck that was.

Prior to seeing that I would have thought it was damn near impossible to go from a 2nd & 3rd/no-out situation to two outs and a runner only on 1st with no runs scoring.

On the other hand, Turner just barely scraped Swanson's heel with that tag; if he misses that then they might not have gotten anyone there and they'd be the ones

contemplating how they fucked it up.
