ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted October 16, 2020 Posted October 16, 2020 There is a weird familiar thing with the Braves on the cusp, and why not.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted October 17, 2020 Posted October 17, 2020 I'd love to see the Dodgers hit a grand slam in the 15th inning of tonight's game.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 17, 2020 Posted October 17, 2020 (edited) GAME 6Max Fried is getting fried in the bottom of the 1st (as usual, I'm watching via a slight delay so I can FF through the dead spots). 3 runs including 2 solo HRs (Seager & Turner) and he's not out of the inning yet.(now he is) Edited October 17, 2020 by Guest
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted October 17, 2020 Author Posted October 17, 2020 If LA wins, Game 7 is tomorrow but apparently Joe Buck will not be there as he has to do the NFL (GB @ TB, Rodgers and Brady, going to about half the country: https://506sports.com/nfl.php?yr=2020&wk=6https://506sports.com/nfl.php?yr=2020&wk=6).If I ran MLB, I would insist on FOX using their #1 announcers for every game of the Championship Series but apparently MLB does not make this a condition of their deal. In contrast, Buck and Aikman are required to call every Thursday NFL game even if it's on the NFL Network.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted October 17, 2020 Posted October 17, 2020 I don't know who I dislike more.LA - because, orAtlanta - for gagging on the opportunity to oust LA.Hmmmm,Nah.It will always be LA.Later
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 17, 2020 Posted October 17, 2020 [referencing the time of game discussion from the AL thread] ... the gap between the manager signaling for a pitching change (first in-inning swap of this game) and the first pitch to the next batter: three minutes. That's half again as long as a mid-inning break in a reg season game. Knock out the extra warm-ups that come on top of the actual warm-ups and you could easily cut that gap in half.3-1 Dodgers, end of seven. Game approx 2:45 long right now.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 17, 2020 Posted October 17, 2020 Kenley Jansen with the six-pitch/three-out save ... and so we'll see you in game seven.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted October 18, 2020 Author Posted October 18, 2020 Game 7 tonight at 8:15 Eastern, with Some Guy stepping in for Joe Buck (it's only Game 7, it's not as important as any NFL game) and John "I know everything and I'm going to tell it all to you" Smoltz on FOX.DODGERS:Dustin May ®1. Mookie Betts ® RF2. Corey Seager (L) SS3. Justin Turner ® 3B4. Max Muncy (L) 1B5. Will Smith ® C6. Cody Bellinger (L) CF7. AJ Pollock ® LF8. Joc Pederson (L) DH9. G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted October 18, 2020 Posted October 18, 2020 Two rookie pitchers, a Game Seven first, I understand.Joe Davis, the Dodgercaster, is sitting in. Buck's priorities (and Fox's) are misplaced.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 18, 2020 Posted October 18, 2020 How do I put this nicely about Dustin May?Let's just say that I don't expect him to be the next contestant on 'The Bachelor' or any of those other dating type shows.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 18, 2020 Posted October 18, 2020 Whoever this replacement announcer is, he looks young enough to be Joe Buck's kid. Maybe he IS a third generation Buck, Skippy Buck
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 18, 2020 Posted October 18, 2020 Two hours = 4 innings. The culprit here has been a massive amount of pitches thrown by most of the (five) pitchers used thus far.Ian Anderson (ATL) - 73 pitches thru 3 inningsTyler Matzek - 27 to get thru 1Dustin May (LAD) - 17 thru 1Tony Gonsolin - 41 thru 2Blake Treinen - 14 thru 13-2 Braves, top 5
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 18, 2020 Posted October 18, 2020 I've seen boat anchors smaller than that '13' necklace Acuna wears.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted October 18, 2020 Posted October 18, 2020 The Travis d'Arnaud Alma Maters World Series will proceed sans d'Arnaud.
