I, too, would like to know the story of the most out-of-the-ordinary autograph experience.

Most of them have been picked up either through the internet and/or the mail, so there is a decent amount of faith in humanity that they're all real. But I've never had reason to specifically doubt any of them, so it is what it is, I guess.



My friend Richie is even closer to 1,111 than I am - he's put a decent amount of time and money into it that I just haven't yet. I've got a handful of holes that are going to be hard to fill because they're stars (Alonso, Conforto), dead (Larry Bearnarth, Danny Frisella, Rod Kanehl), really infrequent signers (Kelvin Chapman, Mike Marshall the pitcher), or some combination of all three (Gil Hodges, Richie Ashburn). But there are enough lower-hanging fruit that I should be able to get to 1,000 reasonably easily and then decide if I want to invest in going all the way.
