Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2020 Posted September 25, 2020 Go Rays!Go Padres!Go... yankeesBaseball Reference says the Mets have a 1.7% chance of making the postseason. Maybe if all goes right today, we can push that number up over 2.0!
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2020 Posted September 25, 2020 Early in the Interleague era, I wondered how I would feel if we had a makeup game at season's end vs an AL opponent directly vying with the MFYs for the final AL Wild Card. If it didn't directly affect our own postseason chances, I would have been comfortable with the Mets forfeiting this hypothetical game just to ruin the MFYs' season. Now, theoretically relying on the MFYs to pave our (incredibly unlikely) way into the playoffs? I don't think I have a “Go MFYs“ in me, no matter how small the type.

batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2020 Posted September 25, 2020 It's a rainout. But if you're jonesing for some Mets action, SNY is re-running, for like the 86th time, the Mets 2015 division clincher. Watch the Mets nail down one of their two first place finishes in 32 seasons.

Philly was up 4-1 early but, y'know, bullpen
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 25, 2020 Posted September 25, 2020 I don't know about Washington, but there was hardly any rain at all in Baltimore. And it was the soft, misty rain that actually is pleasant to play in.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2020 Posted September 25, 2020 Brief showers in Silver Spring, about 40 minutes from the Hell Hole they play in.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2020 Posted September 25, 2020 One time we need the MFYs to win and they lose. PHI lost, SF won the 1st game, so (per Tim Britton):"They need to get a wild card, which will require three wins, one more Phillies loss, two more Brewers losses (including tonight), and three more Giants losses."MIL is losing big so to stay alive for another day SD has to beat SF in the 2d game.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2020 Posted September 25, 2020 San Diego up 3-2 in the 4th.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted September 26, 2020 Posted September 26, 2020 Padres fended off Giants, despite Wilmer Flores HR. We're still stupidly alive.
