Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 24, 2020 Author Posted April 24, 2020 Every good Tommy Lasorda rant starts off with him being reasoned and measured, flying off the handle, taking a step back, recognizing that he's flying off the handle, making sure everybody knows that he knows, and then flying off the handle again. It may be why he's one of the greatest "dumb" managers of all time. It's clear that his hand never quite leaves the stick.Compare that with, say, Hal McRae melting down, which was kinda sad, because his wings were in a tailspin and he didn't even know the stick had broken. There's a reason Tommy Lasorda managed over 3,000 games.
