Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted February 29, 2020 Posted February 29, 2020 Young interracial couple plan a "meet the parents" weekend, deadly hijinx ensue.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted March 2, 2020 Author Posted March 2, 2020 Yeah, it was pretty good, suspenseful and parts were funny, and taught us all The True Meaning Of White Privilege. We're watching Peele's HUNTERS show now, some of the same odd mix of over the top violence, message and humor but don't love it altogether
Vic Sage Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2020 Posted March 3, 2020 I found HUNTERS disappointing. Its got a Tarentino-esque vibe, which I liked, and an almost satirical level of violence. But the performances are largely cartoonish, and the twist in the last episode is SOOOOO preposterous, it made me regret watching the series.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2020 Author Posted March 3, 2020 That's funny, I zonked out on the couch during the final Hunters ep last night, woke up and asked Wifey Bucket "what happened" and she said "a lot." Getting through that show was a real chore at times -- did they have to exaggerate Nazi crimes? -- and the whole superhero thing didn't really make sense to me. In the end a show that was interesting but way out of scale to the hype, and Pacino was largely unitelligible. Wanted to put on captions.
