Hate the swoosh but we all do. Otherwise a fine baby blue jersey.



Folks are coming in their knickers over the Brewers' new unis but I never much loved the ball-in-glove logo that they're built around. I do think it's its an overall handsome set and improvement from the Miller Beer Era golden and green bullshit they tried to get out there.



I am also into the Padres return to brown-- pretty well done. Paul did a good Q-and-A with a Padres' exec who laid out a pretty refreshing take on it: They did it for the right reasons, it was designed in house, and to the extent fans wanted brown to come back, it wasn't the only thing they wanted and navigating that was tricky but in the end pretty well done.



It'd be just like the Mets to try and win social media by returning to black just because Marcus Stroman tweeted it. Stroman is already emerging as an interesting character in Mets uni history (he'll be the first AND SECOND) pitcher to wear a single digit uni number but not sure his taste is perfect, inadvertently forcing No. 7 into at least a temporary mothballing and now advocating from a return of fugly, badly executed black look the Mets did for all the wrong reasons

Is there some link? I'd really love to read about the Padres brown. Not that I have any skin in the Padres game, but I've been wishing for a Padres return to their brown of their first decade or so for a very long time.

For all my fears that Nike would do horrible things, the revisions so far have been upgrades -- especially the Diamondbacks! And for all the fears about the Swoosh on the jerseys, I'll take the Swoosh over the ridiculousness of the University of Michigan football team wearing the Nike "Jumpman" logo. Yes, the football team has a silhouette of Michael Jordan on its jerseys.

I believe Wilson Ramos's chest protector carries the Jordan logo, which itself would beat Ramos in a race to first.
