Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted November 5, 2019 Posted November 5, 2019 wasn't the fast food thing because there was a food worker strike or something? I can't recall but I feel like the kitchen wasn't open for the NHL visit or whatever.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted November 5, 2019 Posted November 5, 2019 The fast food was a result of the government shutdown. The White House staff was not around to cater the meal. I imagine that wasn't an issue yesterday.I don't know if I buy the theory that the fast food is indicative of him looking down on the athletes. After all, Trump is a well known lover of fast food himself. I would guess that once the WH kitchen shut down, his first preference was Whoppers and Big Macs. And I think he is incapable of thinking that anyone would think differently than him.On Edit: More on who he looks down on. I don't think he ever thinks about it too deeply. I think he splits people into two categories. People who like him, and people who don't. I think if he had ever been really accepted by the NY elite, we wouldn't have this right wing conspiracy theorist. But the NY elite didn't accept him. Probably because they felt he was too stupid to get their respect. So he kept talking, and tweeting, and eventually he found an audience that adored him in the deep red states. And here we are.
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted November 5, 2019 Posted November 5, 2019 every day there's 7 disasters and security issues but I feel like there was one involving the delivery of his big mac? Or maybe I'm thinking of something about ordering from a specific pizza place in brooklyn to be waiting at the tarmac in JFK? can't keep these things st raight.
batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted November 5, 2019 Posted November 5, 2019 It wasnt just a shutdown thing. Several visiting teams got the fast food treatment, including some college teams. And even the shutdown wasnt a legit excuse for fast food. The WH could've ordered out from anywhere.
