I know they play for different teams, and throw with different hands, but I kind of have a Dermot Mulroney-Dylan McDermott/Bill Paxton-Bill Pullman thing happening in my brain for Wander Suero and Ranger Suarez.

It really does.

Is it just me, or is it still just a little surprising how fast Realmuto gets out of the box?

Brach looks... frisky. If he gets right, with that cutter/change thing, he's a hell of a bullpen option-- a totally different look from everyone else; one part Bradford, two parts Turk-- down the stretch.

There's, like, two months left, right?

Quickish, painterly eighth from Wilson.

Would that the creative juices would start flowing in the bottoms of these innings. It's been a few frames.

That Guillorme bunt was... something.

I'm thinking there are at least two Red Bulls involved in Blake Parker's warmup routine. He's vibrating like a '70s motel bed out there.

A few winters ago, Parker's parents convinced him to undergo a hair-replacement operation. It did not work as intended, and it left him with a significant scar spanning the back of his head in the shape of a toothless smile. It's visible when he's not wearing a cap, and he takes it off each time he takes the mound, showing the scar as he faces second base and prays.

Parker prefers not to discuss the operation, but he understands why people ask. He doesn't let it flood his boat.

“Here's what I take away from that deal,” said his father, Richard. “I take the fact that he doesn't care about the scar; he doesn't care what happened. He keeps his hair short and he's not afraid to take off his hat. That's what I love about Blake. I'm telling you, I love the kid because he just doesn't worry about it.

“Every time he turns to second to say his prayer, that thing shines, and I see that big smile on the back of his head.”

What I take away, Dad, is that you convinced your son to get elective surgery, because he wasn't enough for you as he was, and now he's got a massive scar to show the world.

B: "Dad, I'm not sure."

R: "Parker men are not thin-hair men, Blake."

B: "But Dad, I've prayed on it an--"

R: "I HAVE SAID MY PIECE."

Protest the game against this time-waster.

Or, you know, just let our actions do the talking and end it with alacrity.
