Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 24, 2019 Posted April 24, 2019 I t'ink context matters. In a few weeks, this game may loom larger or smaller, but I'm predisposed toward Yes.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2019 Posted April 24, 2019 Oh yes.And of course: may he top it somewhere down the line.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2019 Posted April 24, 2019 Obviously it's the 'Wheeler Game', but a 2-out/5th inning Grand Slam by a guy fresh off the DL in what was then a 4 run lead with your starter, while good, already on a high pitch count and clearly not finishing the game, shouldn't be dismissed as mere 'tack-on' runs.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 25, 2019 Posted April 25, 2019 Cool stat I just read: Bob Gibson once drove in more runs in a ballgame than he allowed. Did I say once? My mistake. He did it 26 times.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted April 25, 2019 Author Posted April 25, 2019 I'm guessing he finished 24 of those games.
