G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted May 10, 2019 Author Posted May 10, 2019 The Dodgers have sent Travis d'Arnaud to the Rays for whatever they've got gathering dust.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 10, 2019 Posted May 10, 2019 I don't know if this Cash Considerations kid can play, but the Trolley Dodgers got more back for d'Arnaud than the Mets ever did. Here's hoping he wrecks the Yankees a dozen times over.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted May 10, 2019 Author Posted May 10, 2019 MFYs have seen Td'A play third and second and catch. They're gonna be triply psyched out.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2019 Posted May 11, 2019 Edgy MD wrote:...but the Trolley Dodgers got more back for d'Arnaud than the Mets ever didInteresting point. Was it: Tampa had an immediate need so LAD took advantage, did other teams just wait out the 10-days that the Mets had to deal or dump Travis (the Mets didn't have much leverage), or was LAD simply more savvy than the novice Mets GM?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 11, 2019 Posted May 11, 2019 Well, Travis had a salary attached to him when the Mets were dangling him, but yeah, if that deal was available for LA, it's not unreasonable to guess that something might have been available to the Mets if they offered to eat his salary. It's speculative, because who knows how needs change from week to week, but it's not unreasonable.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2019 Posted May 11, 2019 Rays had both their catchers go down to injury this week, that's the condition that didn't exist when the Mets were pulling the trigger.Speaking of former Mets I think we'll see Carlos Gomez in for Broxolli soon. Letter could be lost if we try to send him down so it wouldn;t surprise me if the Mets are hoping some other team gets an outfielder injury
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 11, 2019 Posted May 11, 2019 Strange how the Mets gave up three guys (marginal guys, but still) for Broxton and still have never really come up with a role for him.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2019 Posted May 11, 2019 To Brodie's credit they also surrounded him with Plan B's including Gomez, Gregor Blanco and Rajai Davis, but I'll bet all of them were Omar guys.

smg58 Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2019 Posted May 16, 2019 I'd give either or both six weeks in Syracuse too see if they can find themselves.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 17, 2019 Posted May 17, 2019 Tampa Bay catchers are dropping like flies hit to Todd Hundley. Travis d'Arnaud, despite starting off 0-for-9, is the last man standing. He's gone 1-4 tonight against the Yankees.

G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted May 26, 2019 Author Posted May 26, 2019 Tigers so impressed by the Mets they've signed one of their old relievers, Carlos Torres, to a minor league deal.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2019 Author Posted May 27, 2019 There used to be a Met guy right here who was right here this weekend, as is explored in this Free Press "he was a Met" https://www.freep.com/story/sports/mlb/tigers/2019/05/26/detroit-tigers-ron-gardenhire-new-york-mets/1247816001/profile of Tigers skipper Ron Gardenhire.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2019 Author Posted May 27, 2019 Just randomly tuned to O's-Tigers in time to hear Keon Broxton drop a ball in center for Baltimore.
Methead Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2019 Posted May 27, 2019 Matt Harvey to the IL with a back strain, which may buy him a bit more time to try and stay in the Angels rotation... or give the team an excuse to remove him from it.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2019 Author Posted May 27, 2019 Making his first MLB start since 2017 today for the Orioles was Gabriel Ynoa. Four serviceable innings helped the Birds of Broxton beat the Bengals.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 1, 2019 Posted June 1, 2019 While they're dumping all those trade components, maybe it's the time for the Mets to make a move for Kelenic and Justin Dunn.
