bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted December 19, 2018 Posted December 19, 2018 Is this also the "Best Smile" round?
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted December 19, 2018 Posted December 19, 2018 Jake winning the Cy is something that could represent this entire season 20 years from now, when people visit the Stockholm shrine. Later
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted December 19, 2018 Author Posted December 19, 2018 They're both nice, happy, appealing covers, but I went with SMILE HIGH because the action photo of Nimmo looks better than the head shot of deGrom.

If we're voting solely on the events being depicted, then why bother even showing the newspapers? They seem to be superfluous to some of youse. Maybe Grimm could just tell us, in words, that one cover is about a Nimmo game winning HR and the other is about Jake's Cy Young award.
Guest Kong76, Jr. Guests Posted December 19, 2018 Posted December 19, 2018 Tough call, went with SMILE HIGH.

This tournament would play out just the same without any pictures. All Grimm's gotta do is tell us that one cover is positive and the other one's negative.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted December 26, 2018 Author Posted December 26, 2018 And Jacob deGrom... is out of this competition! The sole remaining cover featuring our Cy Young winner was narrowly out-smiled by Brandon Nimmo and SMILE HIGH in this battle between two Newsday covers. The only thing standing between SMILE HIGH and the Final Four is IT'S RAININ' METS, which it will face in the fourth round.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted December 26, 2018 Posted December 26, 2018 I could see Jake's former agent turned general manager using this result against him in arbitration.
