Let's say the Mets and the Marlins could make a one-for-one deal for JT Realmuto.

Which of these four players would you prefer to give up? The Mets wouldn't be sending or receiving any additional players. The deal does not include a negotiating window.

If you forced me at gunpoint to pick one it would be Rosario, but I do not believe giving up five years of him, or four of Nimmo, or three of Thor or Conforto is worth two years of Realmuto. I'd vote none of the above.

I took Rosario in the spirit of the poll question 'let's say they could'
but I'm really in Camp SMG on this one.

You know how nervous I must be not to participate in a stupid and meaningless exercise.

Who will it be? I think Nimmo. But I don't want to give up Nimmo in this deal.

Who should it be? None of the above.

Why do youse say that? This depends on what youse think Realmuto'll do over the next two years. If he can repeat 2018, he's probably worth it. And he'd command a fortune after that, that the cheapskate Mets might not meet. He's also a catcher and 30 ( what he'd be in his 1st year after FA) in catcher years is like 33 or 34 in regular baseball years.

First, you have to figure out what you want out of this. What your goals are. Are you trying to give the Mets the best chance at winning the WS in the near future or would you rather have exciting players for many years that might not contend because to seriously contend, you need solid players everywhere, even in the 6th and 7th batting order slots. If you think you're in a small window to .make a serious run, then there should be a sense of urgency to this.
