A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted November 30, 2018 Posted November 30, 2018 Todd Frazier is my #1 candidate to move to a new home. He's got a great personality, gets along well with others and (I think) is housebroken. I propose we call the Anaheim Angels of Los Angeles, who have really no good 3b options that I know of, and offer them Big Dawg Frazier and $4M of the $9M he's owed in 2019 for their de facto closer, Blake Parker. He's a late-bloomer, (this will be his age 34 season) and he pitched pretty well last year 9.5K/9, 14 saves in 66.1 IP. I think the Angels might look at his 4.40 FIP (against the 3.26 ERA) and view him as a candidate for regression and be open to the idea of a trade. He made $1.8M last year and is due for a raise in arbitration this year, too. Is this whack? Is this good? Would you trade Frazier or keep him? If you wanna trade his ass, too, tell me where and for whom.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted November 30, 2018 Posted November 30, 2018 I do want to trade him, but I don't know enough about any other teams to be able to come up with a viable proposal. Frankly, I'd take whatever I could get from someone who's willing to take on his full contract.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted November 30, 2018 Posted November 30, 2018 The Padres could use a third baseman. I know they want Noah, but maybe we could convince them to take Frazier and someone else? (Just make sure we get Travis Jankowski back in the deal as our fourth/fifth OF.)
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted November 30, 2018 Author Posted November 30, 2018 I called the Padres and they told me that they are using Wil Myers at third and they have a full outfield of Hunter Renfroe, Manuel Margot, Franmail Reyes, Franchy Cordero, and your bf Travis Jankowski, so Myers has to stick at the hot corner. Then they said, "what about Noah Syn..." and I hung up.
HahnSolo Old-Timey Member Posted November 30, 2018 Posted November 30, 2018 Todd Frazier strikes me as one of those guys who could have a 1-year mini-resurgance as a St. Louis Cardinal. If not, he kind of profiles as a Brewer or Diamondback, though I have no idea of their needs/lack of needs at the hot corner.
