Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted September 30, 2018 Posted September 30, 2018 Dietrich gets on base to open the inning by doing his best Nimmo impersonation. He barely flinched on that inside curve.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 30, 2018 Posted September 30, 2018 It's funny that Wright has picked up a little bit of a New York accent over the years.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2018 Posted September 30, 2018 It's been about four months since I've watched a baseball game, and it will be another six months before I watch another one, but I had to come back for this one. I watched all 13 innings, and the post-game speech, of course. I'm really glad that David got a chance to do this, and I can tell he enjoyed it. When he first came up to the Mets I was 41 years old, and figured that I was past the point where I'd develop a strong sentimental attachment to a baseball player, but David Wright proved to be an exception. Great player. Great Met. I'm sure he'll still be in the Mets orbit one way or another, as a goodwill ambassador, or a roving instructor, or something else. And I'm also sure that he'll be back for a Number 5 retirement ceremony. (I'm a little surprised that they didn't announce it tonight. Maybe that will be covered in Jeff's address tomorrow. But it would have been nice if Howie had announced it during that video clip.)Oh, and Olivia Wright throwing out the first pitch was absolutely adorable. Maybe it's because I'm also a father of two, but that moment provided the biggest throat lump of the evening for me.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 30, 2018 Posted September 30, 2018 Olivia is up late at the press conference.
