Seventy minutes past high noon: Jake vs Bumgarner. Mets not named Justin Ruggiano don't seem to touch Bumgarner, but this would be a good time to reach out and whack him. Madison, for his part, does not blaspheme deGrom.

"It's so close with deGrom, (Max) Scherzer and (Aaron) Nola, too, but if I had a (Cy Young) vote, (deGrom is) probably where I'd go with it," the San Francisco Giants southpaw told MLB.com's Joe Trezza.

Will be curious to see if the scalding hot Jeff McNeil gets the start despite behind lefthanded.

Then deGrom loses him and then gives up a RBI double. Jake is pissed out there.

2 runs today after Jake threw the ball in the strike zone: one was missed by the inept catcher and the other was misread by the inept umpire. No wonder deGrom took it out on the paper cups.

I gather Randazzo is up there on the Angel Hernandez scale of umpiring incompetence. How does he score?
