Can we put up some crooked numbers, boys? Hell, it's been nearly six weeks
since Jacob's last win.

NYM RH Jacob deGrom (5-5, 1.71 ERA)
PIT RH Trevor Williams (8-7, 4.11)

Batting the pitcher eighth seems to have gone the way of Asdrubal. Callaway hasn't done it since June 19 in Colorado.

Whether on the mound OR notching extra-base hits with less than two out, our guy can't buy help.

Speaking of un-purchasable things... my attendance at a Zac Brown Band-plus-Onerepublic twofer.

I see we’re giving deGrom the customary level of support.

That is pathetic. I volunteer me, my 8 cats, my mom, and my dad in law (in a home) to effing replace the Mets.if things continue to suck I’ll throw in my hubby, kids, inlaws abd grandkids

Finally my 8 cats but really at that point it’d just be embarrassing for the team (but hella better for me)
Marnie already can bat better than half the Mets and she lives under my bed

Tonight's loss drops the Mets into last place as they play leapfrog with ineptitude rivals, the Miami Marlins. More important, the Mets gain two slots as they jockey for position in next year's amateur draft. If the season ended today, the Mets'd pick sixth. Yesterday, they would've drafted eighth.

Gotta root for something.

Waitaminnit!
Getting rid of in-laws can help the Mets?
Why didn't you tell us that years ago?

Mets move up a slot in next year's amateur draft. If the season ended today, the Mets would select fifth overall.

Beats rooting for Jason Vargas.
