Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2018 Posted July 25, 2018 One of [u:2p126jbr]TEN[/u:2p126jbr] day games in MLB today, it'll be a high noon start in Queens (well, 12:10 if you want to be an asshole about it) as the Mets will see their third straight SDP lefty when Corey Oswalt faces Clayton Richards Mets faced Richards [7-9; 4.82] back in April and hung an 'L' on him [3 runs over 6.2] as he and the Padres got deGrommed that night 5-1. More recently he's coming off a 7-runs/3-IP thumping by Philly in SD's first game after the ASB
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2018 Posted July 25, 2018 I'm guessing that Asdrubal will get the day off so let's get McNeil in the lineup and in front of the campers!
Guest sharpie Guests Posted July 25, 2018 Posted July 25, 2018 Probably not going to use McNeil against lefties right away.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2018 Posted July 25, 2018 No McNeil, as sharpie suggested. Amed Rosario – SSAsdrúbal Cabrera – 2BWilmer Flores – 1BJosé Bautista – RFMichael Conforto – LFKevin Plawecki – CBrandon Nimmo – CFJosé Reyes – 3BCorey Oswalt – RHP
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2018 Posted July 25, 2018 Gah! Will no one rid me of this meddlesome Reyes?

Callaway said there is plenty of time in the future for McNeil to start, and I hope that was a loaded statement.
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2018 Posted July 25, 2018 I thought this dude's name was Clayton "Ree-shard". Did I make that up?

Especially over Reyes, who might not be with the team in a month?

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2018 Author Posted July 25, 2018 A baserunner, a baserunner!!Not a hit yet, mind you, but a real live baserunner.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2018 Author Posted July 25, 2018 And for a second day in a row deGrom is saying; "Really guys. Now?" "You can't score at all for me and now you put together a four-run/two-out rally and quite possibly steal a 'W' for Corey Freaking Oswalt?"
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2018 Author Posted July 25, 2018 If this Phil Maton guy now pitching for the Pads were to become a lights-out closer he could be nicknamed 'Auto' Maton
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 25, 2018 Posted July 25, 2018 Good time for Swarzak to turn the corner.I mean, not as good as six weeks ago, but among remaining options.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted July 25, 2018 Posted July 25, 2018 Seems like only 17 series ago that the Mets won one.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 25, 2018 Posted July 25, 2018 A consecutive win, a series win, and Swarzak's greatest moment.Oh, yeah, they also pass San Diego in the league-wide standings.Hold me.

Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2018 Posted July 26, 2018 Four and a half hour drive down, family in tow. Sat with Metfairy, who is doing well but has said that she's more or less done with the CPF, sad to say. Nice win, and maybe most importantly, a nice window of dry weather, as we faced many storms headed in both directions. Five and a half hour drive home. Long ass time to be behind the wheel.Fwife's first visit to the Citi. She loved it. Great day.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2018 Posted July 26, 2018 Oh yeah, also, Fwife and I featured on the "Kiss Cam" between innings.
