One of [u:2p126jbr]TEN[/u:2p126jbr] day games in MLB today, it'll be a high noon start in Queens (well, 12:10 if you want to be an asshole about it) as the Mets will see their third straight SDP lefty when Corey Oswalt faces Clayton Richards
Mets faced Richards [7-9; 4.82] back in April and hung an 'L' on him [3 runs over 6.2] as he and the Padres got deGrommed that night 5-1.
More recently he's coming off a 7-runs/3-IP thumping by Philly in SD's first game after the ASB

I'm guessing that Asdrubal will get the day off so let's get McNeil in the lineup and in front of the campers!

Probably not going to use McNeil against lefties right away.

No McNeil, as sharpie suggested.

Amed Rosario – SS
Asdrúbal Cabrera – 2B
Wilmer Flores – 1B
José Bautista – RF
Michael Conforto – LF
Kevin Plawecki – C
Brandon Nimmo – CF
José Reyes – 3B
Corey Oswalt – RHP

Evans is getting over an infection and isn't back to full 100% energy apparently.

Callaway said there is plenty of time in the future for McNeil to start, and I hope that was a loaded statement.

In a lost season where we already are selling, wouldn't it make sense to start the guy and see if he can hit lefties? Especially over Reyes, who might not be with the team in a month?

Not a hit yet, mind you, but a real live baserunner.

And for a second day in a row deGrom is saying; "Really guys. Now?"
"You can't score at all for me and now you put together a four-run/two-out rally and quite possibly steal a 'W' for Corey Freaking Oswalt?"

Seems like only 17 series ago that the Mets won one.

A consecutive win, a series win, and Swarzak's greatest moment.

Oh, yeah, they also pass San Diego in the league-wide standings.

Hold me.

I hope Evans doesn't get what Syndergaard has.

I completely missed out on this game

The Mets first series win since they swept a 3 game set from the Diamonbacks in Arizona on May 18-20th.

Four and a half hour drive down, family in tow. Sat with Metfairy, who is doing well but has said that she's more or less done with the CPF, sad to say. Nice win, and maybe most importantly, a nice window of dry weather, as we faced many storms headed in both directions. Five and a half hour drive home. Long ass time to be behind the wheel.

Fwife's first visit to the Citi. She loved it. Great day.
