Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted July 17, 2018 Posted July 17, 2018 Nothing better than the crack of the bat as dinger after dinger flies into the stands.Wish Harper had struck out though.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 17, 2018 Posted July 17, 2018 I'd rather watch a Suzyn Waldman pap smear than the home run derby.

Guest 41Forever Guests Posted July 17, 2018 Posted July 17, 2018 We're watching and I like the derby. But these announcers are awful. Taking this waaaaaay too seriously. I almost -- almost -- miss Chris Berman.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 17, 2018 Posted July 17, 2018 (edited) So apparently there are Cubs fans -- guys who take this stuff maybe a bit too seriously -- who are demanding that Kyle Schwarber be declared the real HR Derby champion on account of Bryce Harper, along with his pitcher/dad, serving up the next pitch prior to the previously hit HR landing. This is apparently in violation of the rew-ells which, if followed properly, wouldn't have left Harper with enough time in the final 'round (or whatever they're calling it) to catch and pass Schwarber for this all-important 'title'.I wonder if this is the sort of 'cheating' which would make him ineligible for future HoF consideration? Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted July 17, 2018 Author Posted July 17, 2018 I mean, he did violate the rules.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 17, 2018 Posted July 17, 2018 I hope this goes to the Supreme Court.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 17, 2018 Posted July 17, 2018 And speaking of Harper's father ... you see the guns on that dude!?Makes one wonder whether the BP pitchers are subject to PED testing. That question might wind up in front of the Supreme Court too.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 17, 2018 Posted July 17, 2018 I saw the photo and figured that was Schwarber, and then thought, "But why does he have a Nats jersey on?"
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 17, 2018 Posted July 17, 2018 Schwarber is undoubtedly quite strong, but he strikes me more as the 'body by Pizza Hut' type of build.
