Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 19, 2018 Posted May 19, 2018 It was a perfect bunt by Gonzalez and, like the booth said, a good time to do it.But the thing about him is that, even with the shift on, with his speed the bunt almost has to be perfect.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 19, 2018 Posted May 19, 2018 No, I don't think Gonzalez has to be perfect at all. They gave him, and regularly give him, a huge margin for error. All he has to do is bunt it hard. If it had to be perfect, there would have been a play and he would have just beat it out. But there was no question. As for Rosario, what should be reviewed is the strategy of taking pitches down the middle and and swinging at balls off the plate.

And so if the bunt was a little less perfect by say being a bit further off the line and therefore closer to the fielder he might not have just beaten it out.

G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted May 19, 2018 Posted May 19, 2018 Not in the Schaefer points: Jay Bruce targeted a little kid with a glove in the first row of section 102, tossed it one row too far, an adult grabbed it, first showily walked away with it and then turned around and stuck it in the kid's glove. The kid spent the rest of the night pounding the ball into his glove. Good play by all concerned.DeGrom was beautiful. Thirteen strikeouts and the 10:19 at Woodside.

Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted May 19, 2018 Posted May 19, 2018 Philly lost, Braves lost, Nats PPD, Mets win = 2 games over .500. (not that I'm scoreboard/standings watching in mid-May)
