G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 Wheeler with a good start today. Calling it now.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2018 Author Posted April 29, 2018 Let’s hope so against this lineup.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2018 Author Posted April 29, 2018 I’m reminded how unenjoyable Wheeler starts are. Deep counts. Tons of base runners.
HahnSolo Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 So is Wheeler the new Pelf? Or the new John Maine?
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2018 Author Posted April 29, 2018 So aggravating. As annoying as a scoreless inning can be.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 Cespedes ---> Bruce ---> RunReyes ---> Nido ---> Run
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 Cespedes's thumb! Precautionary measures!
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 Annnnnnnd, Cespedes is out of the game.G-Fafif wrote:Cespedes's thumb! Precautionary measures!I forget whether "precautionary measures" is six weeks or eight.

bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 Wheeler, Matz, Harvey--stay on the west coast, go to the 51s. Bring up any 3 of the 51s starters and they couldn't do any worse.

Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 The thing about Wheeler is, he could be having a pretty good game, and cruising, and he's still going to struggle to give you five whole innings before hitting 100 pitches. And so it goes.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 It's a sweatshirt day in SD? During peak hours on a 70-75 degree day?
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 He's not throwing a bad game today, the hits (6) have been soft/seeing-eye for the most part and with some better decisions/defense he could still be scoreless.But, as usual, too many walks (2) and deep counts (lots) so it's taken him Five-1/3 innings worth of pitches (80) just to get through Four.

Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 Bmfc1, bro, come in off the ledge. It's nice in here. Osterdonk brought a quarter-keg of pumpkin ale and there's a hot dog bar set up in the kitchen. Bacon wrappedhot dogs with countless (can I say countless here?) accompaniments. #LGM
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 Eminently Se-worthy 6th. Think we're getting 2 frames?

And it was -10 when I left Albany for the flight.Wimps.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 And just as we were getting ready to take Adrian out to the glue factory, he comes through with a Five-RBI game!Which just goes to show the wisdom of the renowned British philosopher Pete Townshend still holds true: Here by the sea and sand, nothing ever goes as planned.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 Have they said anything about Yo's thumb/fingers/hand?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 Happy: The heart of the lineup seems to have awoken.Sad: It seems to have taken an injury to Yoenis to awaken the heart of the lineup.Happy: Nimmo in the game.Sad: It seems to have taken an injury to Yoenis to get Nimmo in the game.Neutral: The team seems to have had more plate appearances by relievers already than the have in some entire seasons.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 "Robert Gsellman is up in place of Harvey in that Mets bullpen, which means that Mickey Calloway is not fooling around."Ouch, Gary.
