The thing about Wheeler is, he could be having a pretty good game, and cruising, and he's still going to struggle to give you five whole innings before hitting 100 pitches. And so it goes.

He's not throwing a bad game today, the hits (6) have been soft/seeing-eye for the most part and with some better decisions/defense he could still be scoreless.
But, as usual, too many walks (2) and deep counts (lots) so it's taken him Five-1/3 innings worth of pitches (80) just to get through Four.

I'm exaggerating, slightly, but it's pathetic that they keep trotting out garbage starters 3 days out of 5.
OK: I retract the statement as an action plan and after looking at the 51s roster, consider it to be hyperbole.

When I went there years ago, it was in the 60s (the temperature I heat my house) and they were putting out space heaters.

And it was -10 when I left Albany for the flight.
