They started out on this tear despite having little more than nothing to show for the offseason. Vargas hasn't appeared yet. Swarzak had thrown only 2 1/3 innings. Frazier had a .708 OPS (before his PotG-quality performance this evening).Leaving aside the bargain basement grab of Gonzalez, the only big-ticket offseason acquisition that had been contributing was Bruce. But he's arguably been keeping the hotter player out of the lineup.
