I don't really understand this. If Michael Conforto is healthy enough to play in a spring training game today, and play in minor league games until today, then why would he not be healthy enough to play on Opening Day a week from now?

Have they said as much?

Guessing it would only be to get more reps and get timing down.

That makes sense. I expect we'll be able to see him before May 1. From the beginning, that seemed like a slightly pessimistic date to me.

I don't follow the news as closely as I could, but I just assumed that he's
ahead of schedule and agree that if he's ok play he's ok to play?

If he's going to play Grapefruit games it means they can't backdate his DL stint either. I feel like this is leading towards Opening Day. Sucks to be Nimmo. wonder if anyone wants Bruce?

Yeah I imagine if he's ready to go, they won't keep him in PSL or send him to Vegas just because. Not sure if 6 days of game action is enough to get him major league ready, but I'd rather have an mostly-ready Conforto than a fully-ready den Dekker.

I mean, he's not necessarily facing Aces trying to blow him away in major league games either compared to minor league ones.

Conforto is 0-3 w/a K
Mets down 5-1 thru 6
Ving Rhame (or whatever his first name is), who has been listed as probable to make the club, gave up runs 3, 4 & 5
