Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 6, 2018 Posted March 6, 2018 That's something like an A team, minus the shortstop. This notion of batting Céspedes second is starting to look like a thing.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted March 6, 2018 Posted March 6, 2018 Do we ever play anyone other then Houston? Crikey.
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted March 6, 2018 Posted March 6, 2018 Zeile back in the booth today. Is he a permanent add?
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted March 6, 2018 Posted March 6, 2018 Dang, nice AB by Zimmo to lead off. Down 1-2 and fought back to draw a tough walk. I'm on board with this dude. Ya gotta earn it, Lagares. Before I hit submit, Adrian smokes a double off the right field wall. Good sign.
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted March 6, 2018 Posted March 6, 2018 Sac fly, Bruce. 1-nil Mets. Jeez, if Gonzalez is actually healthy?

Vic Sage Old-Timey Member Posted March 6, 2018 Posted March 6, 2018 Lugo in to finish 3rd. Good thing Vargas picked off 2 runners in the 1st, or it would've been worse.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted March 6, 2018 Posted March 6, 2018 Cespedes kaboomerism retakes the lead for Mets in 3rd.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted March 6, 2018 Posted March 6, 2018 and just like that a non-catch by Cespedes and a single tied it back up in the 4th. Seth Lugo in there now
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted March 6, 2018 Posted March 6, 2018 Ty Kelly can be on my team anyday. Flores on 1st after a painful elbow HBP, Ty gets him over by smashing an infield single off the pitcher.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 6, 2018 Posted March 6, 2018 Ty has seemingly hurt his chances in the past by not growing a baseball body. He's built like a Torre-era Met, kinda like Doug Flynn. He just looks like a guy. Slim and athletic, but nobody's idea of graduate of #BarwisMethods.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted March 6, 2018 Posted March 6, 2018 I know it's a fake, but not sure I've ever seen three guys picked off in one game.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted March 6, 2018 Posted March 6, 2018 2 good plays at ss this inning.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted March 6, 2018 Posted March 6, 2018 Robles gives up another homer and we're losing.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted March 6, 2018 Posted March 6, 2018 Nido homers, tied at 4 in the 7th.

A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted March 6, 2018 Posted March 6, 2018 an infield single on a hit-and-run by my new adopted kid David Thompson sees Kyle Kazmuh-whatshisname scamper to third. Guillorme follows with an opposite field single and we're tied at 5 in the 8th. Wilmer up, late inning excitement at First Data Filed OMGedit: double play, Wilmer. :'-(
Vic Sage Old-Timey Member Posted March 6, 2018 Posted March 6, 2018 Nido homers and throws out a runner at 2b. Nice game for the kid.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted March 6, 2018 Posted March 6, 2018 9th inning single for Andres Giminez. He's a little guy but Biondi, up now, even smaller.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted March 6, 2018 Posted March 6, 2018 Biondi infield singles, den Dekker walks now Phil Evans with the chance to win OMG
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted March 6, 2018 Posted March 6, 2018 WALK OFF GRAND SLAM!!!!
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted March 6, 2018 Posted March 6, 2018 These late-inning Mets look like a bunch of cute lil hobbits.
Vic Sage Old-Timey Member Posted March 6, 2018 Posted March 6, 2018 a walkoff grannie... now THAT'S the way to end a game. Way to go, Phil Evans. You'll be living off that moment for a while.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 6, 2018 Posted March 6, 2018 Evans made a memory. He looks significantly less tubby this spring, and this is the sort of moment that leaves an imprint on a manager's consciousness. With T.J. recuperating (and Reynolds gone), both he and Cecchini have caught up to him in the organizational rankings. I'm curious with how the Mets rank the three, but I like 'em all and am curious to see who gets the next call when an infielder is needed. But with his broad outfield experience and switch-hittiness, I guess the next call goes to Ty.
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted March 6, 2018 Posted March 6, 2018 Don't forget Guillorme. No pop to speak of, but a guy who gets on base like Zimmo and catches everything in front of him (including bats!). The Mets could do worse in a short-term pinch than run him out there.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted March 6, 2018 Posted March 6, 2018 This is the 3rd year in a row I figured on them going with a young second baseman (fourth if you consider I was a proponent of trading Muffy too early) with a different young guy in mind each time, be it Flores, Hererra, Cecchini and today, Guillorme.Instead we get guys other teams broke in like Walker, Walker, and Cabrera.I am hopping aboard Team Guillorme For Second Base in 2018. Evans for all his heroics looks like a good bet to repeat Vegas and win his way back as a reserve, Guillorme almost assuredly also starts in the minors but I'd love to see him get a chance alongside Rosario. I haven't tuned in for a Rosario update but I also would guess Guillorme could get a crack if Rosario needs a scope. I'm not sure if the train already departed the station with Cecchini.
