A new D in Detroit

If you've ever looked closely, the Old English D on the Tigers' caps and jersey are very different. One of those quirky uniform things that a lot of people don't notice. Been that way for decades -- eight of them. Not any more. Team announced today that the D on the cap -- thinner, pointier -- will now be on the jersey as well.

The team switched its official logo from the Tiger walking through a D to the jersey D in 2006, then to the cap D a year or two ago.

I remember as a kid thinking it was cool that they had a white D on their home caps and an orange one on the road...but never knew the caps differed from the jerseys.
