Yeah, there's almost nothing bad about it. The headline isn't great, but neither is it an over-ambitious failure. The humble bowing of his teammates heads, the hat-waving tribute of the fans behind him, and bad news for the Yankees in the top bar. How about the dirt over Granderson's name on his back? He may be slugging homers, but he's all about the hustle. He's blurred out his name and become one of us.

It's not a great story, or even a great action shot, but they're both good, and the News makes the most of what they have. Fine composition. Elegant execution. Dignity in a tabloid back page. Who'da thunk it?

Looks like I’m as good at picking covers as I am at scouting prospects.

Maybe I should ask Omar which cover will win.

If we scored 6 runs in the first, second, or third I'd have to go with IN THE BIG INNING. That would have made it just the best in these days of wise-ass headlines. But we didn't.

Goin Grandyman!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll used this space more productively by saying I don't think that's dirt Edgy. Just the orange kinda bleeding. But then again, I need new glasses.

The Post cover is clever and appropriate for Opening Day but the Mets have too much company on the page. The News cover pops out and is an excellent picture.

This outcome really surprised me, but the people have spoken and IN THE BIG INNING has narrowly defeated MR. 300 and will advance, as the sole remaining New York Post cover, to the Final Four.

Voting will resume on Monday.

This might be the first time I backed a winner! I thought both were pretty good.

It was inevitable once I picked the other to win it all.

It's too bad, it was the one cover this year that I genuinely liked. Granderson's time here kinda transcends this season, and it would have been a nice way to send him off. Sorry Curtis. I guess your covers suck too.
