Guest 41Forever Guests Posted November 21, 2017 Posted November 21, 2017 Nice to see Grandy getting some love with Mr. 300.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted November 21, 2017 Posted November 21, 2017 CLAY IT AIN'T SO is a criminally bad headline. I object to its existence!
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted November 21, 2017 Author Posted November 21, 2017 I'm not sure I understand the apostrophe after CLAY. Is it because it's short for CLAYTON? You don't write ROB' for ROBERT or PETE' for PETER.

G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted November 21, 2017 Posted November 21, 2017 The game reflected on June 15, the one that includes two different Daily News back pages that each have specific game coverage (as opposed to an early edition that's just vamping), was one of the handful of great games of 2017. It's presumably already disappeared from collective memory, but it was a big deal, at least for a few hours. The world champion Cubs had teed off on Harvey, yet the Mets stormed back like sons of a gun (sonsofagun?). Steven Matz pinch-hit in the fourth inning and reached base -- driving in a run in the process. The bullpen was heroic all night. Plus the injuries that had to be overcome. Plus Grandy's 300th.That was the last time in 2017 I was more convinced than not that we were still living in the era of the 2015-2016 Mets.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted November 21, 2017 Posted November 21, 2017 I don't see any connection between the Mets and "You Can't be Serious". I mean, that's what we might have all been thinking, but I don't see how the McEnroe quote connects at all.Mr. 300 is good stuff. My only vote of this round.

Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted November 21, 2017 Author Posted November 21, 2017 It took me a moment to realize what you meant by "tripled down".

Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted November 22, 2017 Posted November 22, 2017 I hardly recognize Harvey in the slimming pinstripes of Dingers & Stingers. His thing is to wear the blue top most nights
