Josh Beckett, 138-game-winner in Major League Baseball and MVP of the 2003 World Series, has apparently heard how fun it is to get raucous at concerts, but has has an incorrect idea of how this is done.

He was at an open mic night at a Texas country club when he reportedly jumped on the stage to tackle the singer while he was performing.

He claims to have been attempting to stage-dive, but nowhere in any responsible description of that activity can "jumping on and slamming the vocalist" be found.

Bad nights drunk are bad nights drunk, but unfortunately lasting damage was done.

TMZ said police were called, and that the singer suffered serious injuries, including a torn rotator cuff.

Hey, look, TMZ not only got the story, but a photo.
