  1. The reality is, none of us know who would work well with who. For all we know, Bobby and Wally go way back and are chummy chum chums. Or they hate the living shit out each other. I love Bobby and I have fond memories of Wally who has had managerial success. I know one thing - When Omar does ultimately get the axe, his press conference is going to be must see TV and must listen-to radio. "You know, no doubtaboutit, there was failings that we,um, failed to process and, you know, that is something that Fred and Jeff wanted to not do and Jerry was the right guy who didn't know that - you know- what we needed to um, do, and you know that these times come and you know that when you take these types of jobs you will get fired but I have no regrets and this is a good team and injuries and you know...." Oh, it's gonna be painful.
  2. I think I know the answer to this - who was the team waiting for coming in to score in that pic...?
  3. You forgot 'parrot-like'.
  4. 'Crisis'? Really irish? I'm disappointed, I thought you were better than that.
  5. It's easy to get in the 'Grimm State of Mind' right now - Last season was just such an energy suck. 2-4 to start with not a lot of offense in the losses reminds me of last year. BUT....its still just the second week of the season and I'm inclined to remain optimistic. As Smiggy said - Harris doesn't make that catch and our boys are 3-3. Yesterday Matthews came up 3 (4?) times with RISP and did dick. Put Beltran in CF and I'd like to think that that spot in the lineup comes through just once and changes the entire game. This team could be 4-2 just as easily as they are 2-4.
  6. That's the way to go Fman. I go in that direction back to CT after games. If you hit traffic at all, it'll be light and only as you are getting on to the Whitestone bridge. The lack of congestion will more than make up for any extra distance you travel.
  7. I know, I know. Friday is a 'best of the week' thing for Howard so I suffer with WFAN more today than the rest of the week.
  8. After 3 games: -'Citi Field has no life in it'. Two days ago he was raving about the crowd and the feel at Opening Day. -'The Mets MUST end the homestand 4-2 or things will go downhill quickly'. This is from the same guy who loves to admonish callers who give up too early on the season by throwing out the old 'its a marathon not a sprint' chestnut. -'The Mets have not hit a home run for 2 games!' Yet David Wright exorcised his demons on Opening Day -'Citi Field will discourage sluggers to come play here.' (in next breath) 'Jorge Cantu wishes he could play at Citi everyday.' Yesterday he was saying that the Mets need a good start from someone other than Santana. He noted that Neise was 'okay' last night but then he went on about the lack of offense in last night's game. Reyes and Beltran weren't in the lineup last night, right?
  9. Edgy DC wrote: "What does he want us to do, swing at balls?" I think he wants you to play baseball. Yeah, really - West isn't saying that all. Does 'Mo' read?
  10. I'll take 3-1.
  11. The thing about Tatis getting thrown out is that had he not gone and then Wright made out or whatever, everybody would be screaming that 'Nando should've tried to score on that play. And when Bay did not tag - don't you think he should've and then come half-way? Had he done that, he or the third-base coach would've been able to judge that the throw would've been horribly off-line, no?

    Boo! 2010

Yep - training staff, and Warthen got a nice round of raspberries also.
  13. I know, I was referring to how it looks all lit up.
  14. How awesome is this...?
  15. Vlad, the prosecution rests.

  17. Yeah I think its facing the stairs coming down from the 7 train. What I wonder is why that main planter isn't directly in front of the rotunda to begin with.
  18. Stole all these from baseballfever.com Fixed: Awesome:
