  1. Winner winner. Thanks for playing
  2. Not Clendenon
  3. Payton hit a three run homer that game. Gary did it twice, back to back in games 3 and 4. One more
  4. A football player is suing FanDuel http://espn.go.com/chalk/story/_/id/14011070/pierre-garcon-washington-redskins-leads-class-action-lawsuit-fanduel
  5. HoJo agrees with Zvon. He tweeted that Syndergaard should stop talking about because he has to face them in game 7. Ronnie was wholeheartedly in favor of the pitch itself though he didn't opine directly about Thor's follow up comments. The GKR and friends group in general thought the act itself was ok and good in that it accomplished making them uncomfortable and getting them thinking about it and talking about it I.e a distraction. They also seemed ok and again even agree with Thor "owning it".

  7. Yeah they announced it today. After they decided they didn't need Simmons I guess it was only a matter of time.
  8. Huh I didn't think it was that close. I'll have to look again
  9. I thought everyone loved the apple too and the poll mentioned in that article indicated the same, but I thought the CPF thread that I can't find had some mixed feelings about the apple. I might be misremembering.
  10. The Yank announcers didn't seem to quite understand that whoever was controlling the apple seemed to know exactly what he was doing but they don't really take away from the moment. I still don't like seeing him in that uniform of course but it looks like a nice moment. And they do say some nice things about Straw. They show the apple going to half mast twice in that clip.
  11. Not Darryl! I was sure it was him too
  12. Nice article about the apple. I am young enough where the apple is part of my childhood so I love the apple. http://espn.go.com/mlb/playoffs2015/story/_/id/13992952/why-beloved-quirky-home-run-apple-perfect-symbol-newyork-mets Most of the stuff is common knowledge but I didn't know this: Former Mets slugger Darryl Strawberry, a hero of the 1986 title team, said he always liked seeing the apple rise because, "It made me feel like I'd done something good." Stadium staffers, perhaps knowing that, paid Strawberry homage by raising the apple halfway when he returned to Shea with the 1998 Yankees and hit a home run. I figured it must've been a Subway Series game that I had forgotten but I found it on YouTube. It was when the Yankees borrowed Shea. (Can you see the YouTube i embedded? I screwed that up in a post once.) ufH2xaQmmLw I'm trying to find the CPF apple-related thread
  13. Syndergaard: "I certainly wasn't trying to hit the guy. I wanted to make him uncomfortable up there. If they have a problem with it they can meet me 60 feet six inches away."
  14. What three hitters are tied for third for most RBI in a World Series game? It's three RBI in one game, behind Rusty and Wright.
  15. Yes.
  16. Zvon wrote: My own question: Was there an intermittent loss of sound for like a second every 10 or 15 minutes? I ask because this was happening to both my broadcast and my brothers at his place. Bleeping out curses maybe
  17. Syndergaard: "I certainly wasn't trying to hit he guy. I wanted to make him uncomfortable up there. If they have a problem with it they can meet me 60 feet six inches away." Edit: Saw the interview and fixed it
  18. Rios: "I thought it was very weak. I thought it was unprofessional."
  19. Elster88 wrote: In a postgame interview Syndergaard says he threw inside to Escobar purposefully to "make them uncomfortable" and "open up the outside of the plate". Hosmer: "Anytime a guy throws at one of your teammates heads, it's not going to go over very easy...we'll find away to get back at him"
  20. I like the way Goodwin ripped the shin guard out of Young David's hand after the RBI single and angrily muttered some bad words.
  21. In a postgame interview Syndergaard says he threw inside to Escobar purposefully to "make them uncomfortable" and "open up the outside of the plate".
  22. Tug yes, Jesse no
  23. @DebraMessing: David Wright. Marry me.
  24. Let's fucking go!!!
  25. PiggiesTomatoes wrote: We won game three in '86 by six runs, too. The KC pitcher briefly having a nervous breakdown evoked that silly Red Sox play from Game three too Lots of parallels going on
