I'm realizing with each passing day that I don't give a flying fuck what happens in the American League. It is soooooo nice to be watching my team play "meaningful games" and not to have to make my rooting interest the team that is playing the Yankees or battling them in the standings. I look at it this way. If we're down one win, and tied in the loss column, we can win the game ourselves and be tied. If we have one extra loss, and are tied in the win column, the other team has to lose.
