  1. Turns out it was Tejeda.
  2. The posts in the Crash thread are great. Maybe a friendly neighborhood mod could throw them in here?
  3. Fluffers.
  4. I have no desire to ever see Citizen Kane, despite the fact that its cinematography was out of this world when it was first released.
  5. Gold Glove has reported in safe and sound.
  6. I realize. But when it is worth five stars? Hmmmmmmmmmm? You see where I'm going with this?
  7. Can Tourette's be treated with drugs?
  8. Bret Sabermetric wrote: Elster thinks I'm making some point here beyond that. I'm not. It's just unusual. I did. It really seemed like you did, still does just from rereading that one post. Thanks for the clarification. SC = zero.
  9. ]Mientk made $3,750,000 last year, Ugh. That was more than I thought. I retract my previous statement and apologize to the court. ________________ This post had the designation 88) Randy Myers
  10. Should we come up with a specific way to rate movies? Best movie of the year means five stars to me. Vic called it the best movie of the year and RealityChuck called it the best Hollywood film in years, and one of them gave it 4. I remember someone saying they only give 5 stars for one of the best movies of all time. Not that either way is better or worse. Or maybe we don't need a single system. This is a baseball forum.
  11. ]top dollar for mediocrities like Matsui and Mientkiewicz when there are probably kids in the farm system (someone else's if not ours) Fortunately, the Mets didn't do this.
  12. Bret Sabermetric wrote: What we're saying here, seems to me, is that we've never had an adequate offensive shortstop (outside of HoJo, and he hardly counts as a shortstop), which is fairly amazing. Is there a team anywhere that went over four decades without a superior offensive season at a position? So what you're saying is, most teams have had an above average shortstop, and that it takes a rare, very poorly run team to have had the Mets' history at SS?
  13. ]speaking nonsensically in mock Chinese Shaq did this as a joke to Yao when he first joined the league. I found it hilarious but some media folk were offended.
  14. Rockin' Doc wrote: Piazza's altercation with the Dodgers Guillermo Mota in the spring of 2003. My favorite SportsCenter highlight of all time. $5 per copy. Burnitz nearly caught that little bitch.
  15. Bret Sabermetric wrote: What, he thought a GG CFer with speed and power would be impossible to unload in this market? Bret, you kill me: http://cybermessageboard.ehost.com/getalife/viewtopic.php?t=1792&start=0 Bret Sabermetric wrote: And some of you are wondering why Cameron didn’t fetch more than a so-so corner outfielder? Maybe you’re mistaking his present value as a possibly blinded (certainly possibly vision-impaired) defensive wizard for his past value—say, from the dim, distant ages of June of 2005, when it was bruited about that he could go for an impact player—a closer, for example, or two young players far better than the X-man That second statement comes from 11/19/05. Truly amazing.
  16. I keep thinking of Bret's question from last year. Would Heilman be guaranteed a rotation spot if Castillo hadn't reached on a swinging bunt that day? Or was it an actual bunt? I can't remember.
  17. Joe Torre is not a great manager.
  18. It's snowing on your toaster.
  19. Taking a look at the contract that Washburn gives perspective. It makes me dislike the trade more.
  20. I feel a lot better about the Seo/Sanchez trade after hearing that Beningo hates it. That's my new sports theory: Go against the radio hosts. The one and only time I bet college football, I went 3 for 3 on picks against the spread. How did I do this, you ask? I answer: I took Russo's picks for the week, and took the opposing team. This was the week that USC played Notre Dame. He picked USC and two other games. I made a quick $150.
  21. Hillbilly makes the best argument for the Seo trade, which is hopefully the reasoning Omar had. "Seo is nothing special and Sanchez will help the bullpen." I say hopefully because other proposed motivations are ethnic cleansing and personal animosity.
  22. Edgy DC wrote: I don't think that's Thread Police activity so much as Get My Damn Jokes Police activity. LOL. Yup, that was it. It's my fault really. If the joke wasn't gotten, odds are it wasn't funny.
