  1. Old joke: Who are the two best managers in the history of the American League? Joe Torre and Casey Stengel Who are the two worst managers in the history of the National League? Joe Torre and Casey Stengel
  2. I haven't heard anything but the first thing that comes to mind is calling Nelson de la Rosa a monkey. He makes a lot of remarks about the stereotypical Latino ballplayer too. The casual listener might not know who Keith is, let alone his ethnicity, so their might be some complaints there. I doubt this one really, just speculatin.
  3. I can pick it up from there....maybe you should start that thread. Or I could start it.

  5. I understand and appreciate that it's very difficult to maintain your spreadsheet, but is it okay to put comments in the individual game threads when the discussion is related only to that one game? Easier to follow the discussion and for posterity and all.
  6. I've noticed Willie being a little snippy with many media-members. Especially anyone who dares question him. "I know my team best" is a horrible response. I wish MD had responded to that with "Ok, if you know them best, explain what makes him better".
  7. I had promised not to respond to hostility any more. But, to me, you spend an awful lot of time over here for a Red Sock fan.
  8. I guess throwing Kaz back in would mean an immediate losing streak. It's unusual for a highly-paid player to be given a backseat upon return from an injury when his replacement has been so awful at the plate.
  9. ]No more than one point in around half the votes isn't love: It's barely a date. Drinks but not dinner.
  10. Zambrano getting love for a bad outing when he was handed a four-run lead out of the gate.
  11. All the players are saying things like this. It's making me a little nervous. And I'm not superstitious..
  12. What shit? That you're hostile and condescending? Kind of hard to ignore. Edit: But you're right. By continuously bringing it up it's very repetitive on my part. It's pointless anyway. Consider it dropped.
  13. Never mind.
  14. Remember all the crying you did yesterday about how everyone responds with hostility and doesn't speak to the substance of your posts? I'm trying here. But KC is right, everything you post is just a little (or a lot) condescending. If you have posted your exact post above, but left off the "Thanks for playing" line, then it would've been an impressive response. For the 100000th time, that's why people have a problem with you. Not because you are anti-Mets. Edit: Back to the substance of your post. If it's apples and oranges, why did you make the initial comparison between Kaz and Traxxx?
  15. Yup that's it. Good find, irish. I like reading IGTs from other fora. EDIT: I'm Bobby Bo!
  16. I was going for Wright....it's from another thread. That was a quick quoting you did. I thought my post was unnecessary and thought better of it as soon as I hit the "Enter Post" button. But not before getting caught out.
  17. David Wright = the man Edit: Removed unnecessary sarcasm.
  18. From NYMets.com Coming up: The Mets return home on Friday night to face the Brewers, who apparently have solved Shea Stadium. The Brewers have won nine of their last 12 games at Shea, after losing 16 of their first 19 games there following their switch to the National League. Glavine goes for the 277th victory of his career. Chris Capuano, the third left-handed starter to face the Mets this season, goes for Milwaukee. He won 18 games last season.
  19. Bret Sabermetric wrote: ="Elster88"]Must suck to have renounced being a Met fan only to have them get off to a great start this year. Thanks for your concern. I'm getting by. Boston 6 -2 .750 Too bad you're not a Red Sox fan.
  20. duan your post is the perfect example of why to completely ignore PECOTA.
  21. ]As with Matsui, WWSB is favoring Zambrano absurdly over Trachsel, I don't think that the situations are the same. Trachsel is a better player in a hundred different ways than Zambrano, as you noted above. Who's better than Matsui on the current roster? Or last year's roster? Until there is someone to play instead of Matsui, it's hard to say that his playing time is being forced on Willie by the front office.
  22. The Brewers being in the NL is almost normal to me now.
