They zoomed in on the 396, which is where that double hit, and you could see the stitching and imprint of the ball. I'm not lying. There was a "We Want Benson" chant. But Julio gets the job done. 2 out of 3. Pretty good. Hopefully that'll calm mlbtalk for the rest of the day.

Wow. I thought Willis and Cabrera were up for free agency after this year. I take it all back. Make that trade NOW!!!

Right now, Anderson Hernandez is not a better ballplayer than Kaz Matsui. This is not a debate.

That's incorrect. You take the player on the team who performs best, and you start him. It's common sense. Anything else is stupidity.

You should know, and everyone with eyes knows, that Kaz is a better hitter than Andy. It's not a debate at this point.

When someone gets hurt, we lose that piece of the offense. Despite the hitting so far, we really can't afford a regular player with Hernandez's bat. And Matsui is any better? Uh, yes. Have you seen Andy hit? Holy crap, how many times must we go over this?

On the FAN this morning, Ned Yost said he will limit Ben Sheets to 90 pitches. He is 100% and his fastball looks great, they are just treating it as his first start out of spring training, hence the pitch limit.

Bret, what happens when the year ends, if we don't win the WS, and Miggy and Willis walk? Then was it a good trade?

Who would they take? Pedro? If they could afford Pedro they wouldn't be dealing Dontrelle. Bannister? Well, someone's got to lose a rotation spot if the Mets get Dontrelle. Buh-bye. Zambrano? Good riddance. Humber? Got to give to get. And I believe I'm Wright's biggest fan on the CPF, so this isn't about his ability. It's about "Do you want the Mets to get better or not?" Sometimes I think I'm the only loyal Mets fan on this site. If Wright was guaranteed to sign when he hits free agency, but you have no guarantees of resigning Willis and Cabrera, would you make the trade? I wouldn't, because it seems like putting all your eggs in one basket for this year. George would love to throw money at those guys and steal them away from the Mets if we picked them up in a trade. Especially with Sheffield heading out and Randy and Mussina decomposing. It's just too risky. Wright ain't going anywhere. We can make our bid for those guys when free agency comes up.

I'm a lot more confident that we'd be able to sign Wright when he hits free agency than I would be about signing BOTH Miggy and Willis if we made that deal. I think any Met fan (or any Met-news followers) would say the same. No? And if you don't sign both then I think it's a bad trade for us.

Nady should've caught that, maybe? Fake bunt and swing by Okha, ball lands on the warning track. That's decent opposite field power for a pitcher. Holy crap, Fielder is fat rumbling in from second. A good throw by Hernandez probably gets him. He needs to make that play if he's going to hit .200

I'd love to see Wright play here 15 years and become the best Met hitter of all time, but you have to do that trade. Of course, we need to be guaranteed to sign them both. Without that the trade is not good for the Mets either, no?

True enough. I've never done it before. I printed out the whole email, that was all the info they gave.

You need to fix your clock. Spring forward.

I'm not going myself. But, if anyone wants a copy of this, there is a nice easy "Forward this to a friend" button, so PM me your email address. Or just register for email from Mets.com. I get about one spam email a day.

Good job by Castro. He's a good little player.

Well....the good thing is now that the bases are loaded with one out we don't have Hernandez up.

So Nymr likes chanting MVP....is anything else better when the Mets are 8-1? Do the roses smell better? Does the sun shine brighter? Anyone?
