  1. Play Rodriguez in left? How much of a beat-down would I receive for suggesting that ARod is a better shortstop than Mr. Excitement? Reyes to second?
  2. Apparently, the Yankee fans are being quite demonstrative in booing Mr. Rodriguez these days.
  3. Write-in = player name in bold.

I'm not interested in blaming anyone individually, I'm just saying I don't believe that Cliff should go to the bench. I don't know where I first heard it. Who cares?
  5. Wright's play did save the end of the game, IMO. But Delgado is hard to overlook.
  6. Not a pessimist. Just a realist. El Duque's Met ERA was lowered to 4.05 by his 9 inning, 1 run performance. His season ERA was lowered to 5.48.
  7. BTW, I have a feeling that the Phillies are going to blast the hell out of El Duque today and that he won't reach the sixth inning.
  8. The Tiggers are one team that makes sense from their point of view. They need any and all kinds of bats, not just lefty bats.
  9. I'll take back the word majority. I don't understand why some people want Cliff on the bench when Nady comes back.

(why he needed a doctor to tell him that as opposed to ... say a blind news dealer is a question but that's besides the point here) Not fair. There are plenty of hugely overweight guys out there who need a doctor to kick them in the ass and tell them to change their lifestyle or else they could drop dead at any time.
  12. I don't think they hate each other. I think they get annoyed with each other the same way any two people would who have worked together for years.
  13. A theory: In a game like yesterday's the hitting performances should be scored lower than similar performaces would be, but the good pitching performances of Bradford, and Wagner should actually be OVERscored to comparable performances, because they held on to close leads in a game where both teams were popping the ball out of the yard. (I don't include Feliciano as one that should be "overscored" because he had a 4 run lead to work with.) 'Course maybe only Bradford b/c Wagner's ass was saved by Mr. Wright.
  14. HahnSolo wrote: But strictly on offense, I think you take the 06 guys. In a heartbeat. HahnSolo wrote: Probably best to wait till the season's over to see how the season plays out, though. Nah, make your judgement now and pop it in the Prediction Archives.
  15. I'll admit it. I have no idea why all those guys have televsions for heads. That makes no sense to me.

(why he needed a doctor to tell him that as opposed to ... say a blind news dealer is a question but that's besides the point here) So Dawg asks him what he can't eat. MF: Anything with four legs CR: Like what? MF: Well let's start with cows CR: So no steaks huh. How about hamburgers? MF: No, no cows CR: What else? MF: Gotta lay off the bread CR: How about bagels? MF: No, they're made of bread CR: French Toast? HAHAHAHA I was dying. Especially listening to Mike's pauses after each question. You could practically read his thoughts over the air ---"Hamburgers?!?!? I just said no beef!!!" ----"BAGELS?!?! FRENCH TOAST?!?!? I JUST SAID NO BREAD". But he couldn't smack Mad Dog and call him an idiot while on-the-air the way you or I would smack a buddy who was being a moron.
  17. Edgy DC wrote: In fact, my top ten Met hit-bunters: Backman Taveras Endy Dykstra Lance Johnson Randle Moo Beltran Reyes Butler Maybe you did this in no particular order, or maybe you lowered him because he only played a half of a season here, but Butler was by far the best bunt-for-a-hit-guy.
  18. Centerfield wrote: I've seen the prequels a few times. Sure, the dialogue is bad, and the directing was probably worse, but there is no excuse for those performances. Her "romantic" scenes with Anakin...they're unspeakably bad. I dunno. I think any actress would've been just as unspeakably bad in those scenes. Or worse. I don't blame her. 'Course, I also don't WANT to blame her because she's a button.

  20. I don't get why the majority of people want him on the bench when Nady comes back. Even when he was slumping he was hitting shots. If we need a guy to hit a home run to tie the game, I want him up there over anyone else. Well, over anyone except Delgado/Beltran/Wright.
  21. I don't see him as insurance. I see Milledge as the insurance. He's played against maybe four teams so far. He's going to hit a slump and the pitchers will adjust to him. I think.
  22. And at least now Nady will probably recognize that Cliff will be gone next year and he should be back to playing every day. There was no such light at the end of the tunnel when he was in San Diego.
  23. The Star Wars prequels, at least, can be blamed on the script. A lot of good actors looked awful in those movies.
