  2. MFS62 wrote: ="Yancy Street Gang"]="Willets Point"]England 0, Trinidad & Tobago 0 in the 73d minute. Wow, even when three teams are playing, nobody scores. Ding Ding Ding We have a winner. That one was so good that today's post-of-the-day competition has been closed. You obviously didn't see the Leo Durocher line in Edgy's post from page 1.
  3. Trachsel with the weak groundout. Cut him.
  4. Yancy gets double points for being the first to make the joke.
  5. Is there anyone left at the ballpark?
  6. Baseball is boring. What's happening in the World Cup?
  7. I'm glad his homer came in the first inning today.
  8. Hillbilly wrote: Endy steals 3rd to get there with 1 out. Was it a close play? Did he get a great jump? Did the catcher even throw? Why didn't Delgado follow him? Gameday doesn't have the details.
  9. So why do guys like Marlon Anderson and Endy Chavez come here and play so well? They must be "New York Guys".
  10. A .500 record from here out, including today, would mean exactly 90 wins for the season.
  11. Didn't even get the radio set up yet.
  12. I think I'll start a Trachsel Watch Thread after today's game. I'm of the opinion that we have plenty of room to let Trachsel work himself out. It's been what, 10 starts so far?
  13. You owe me a soda. The last line especially slayed me.
  14. I guess not no matter how he pitches. I'm saying as long as he pitches reasonably close to career norms. If his ERA stays at 5 or below, I say he stays on the team. And if it stays that high, that means he's pitching just as poorly as he has been. So I guess what I meant to say was, if he continues to pitch at the same poor level he has, he will stay on the team and in the rotation.
  15. Has there been a correlation between this stuff and our record so far?
  16. Regarding that, I read somewhere that the seeds for the brawl were first planted because two pitches in a row "almost" hit Jeter. Shocking really, that so many brawls are instigated by Jeter's at-bats. Who'd a-thunk a guy who dives over the outside corner when he's already standing on home plate would be "almost hit" so often???
  17. ]Trachsel has been having a bad year. I have a feeling that his next 5 or so starts will determine his fate with this Mets team. I guarantee you that that is not the case. Traxxxx is here for the rest of the year. Archive it as a prediction. To dump him and keep El Duque is the height of stupidity, shut outs in the desert nonwithstanding.
  18. Johnny Dickshot wrote: ="Frayed Knot"]Woody for Valentin isn't surprising; Marrero for Milledge somewhat is. Punishment? I'm certain. As certain as I am that WWSB will it explain it away by saying "I just wanted to give him a blow" and insist the punishment he's not handing out is not related to Milledge's loafing; and in fact, Milledge's loafing is yesterday's news and so why do you wanna write about that anyway. I don't have a huge problem with Willie lying about punishing his guys. Is it really going to help Milledge to have his punishment announced on Sportscenter? Besides, on M&MD yesterday, Willie said he wanted to get Eli a start. BTW, your post reads like you were channeling someone else when you wrote it.

  20. It didn't jinx them on Sunday.
  21. Should league leaders be seperate from this rankings thread?
  22. moved
  23. Floyd again tested his still-sore left ankle and said it limited his mobility. "I can't go back on a ball," he said. "So what? They're playing in Citizens Bank Park where the left fielder needs only to be able to turn and watch baseballs fly into the the seats."
  24. I went with #3. The Mets' winning has nothing to do with the level of fun around here. I was having a particularly miserable time posting here when they were 10-2.
