(Unless he goes somewhere, gets in the WS every year for the next 4 yrs and hits 2 homers in every game. Then Ill be furious.) the only thing that could REALLY keep him out as a Met is to return to the Dodgers and be productive for a couple of years or win a WS there. bite yer tongue.
  10. cooby wrote: And that's a shame, he was around forever. Guess that means he can't ever be Met of the Week. sure he can. One pic will be enough some weeks. And I was a Hubie fan. Ill try to dig up more.
  11. cooby wrote: Hehe, that'll do. I remember that picture of Hubie, gosh he looks about 20 in it Thats the only decent pic I have of Hubie.
  12. I have to say if Piazza is willing to be a 3rd string bench player for around 2 mill (which I have read) that, even tho he may not fit in with the Mets current plans, Im kinda disappointed he's not gonna do that for the Mets. He did say he was willing to stay and play a lesser role before last season even ended. I wouldnt be ticked at him tho. Maybe at the Mets. At the same token, maybe its best to remember him at his prime, as a Met, forever frozen in time takin that axe wielding like swing and sending a ball into orbit. In any case Ill miss him and wish him well. (yea, im feelin sentimental) As far as the HOF hat goes, I was kinda being facetious. He's gonna go as a Met. (Unless he goes somewhere, gets in the WS every year for the next 4 yrs and hits 2 homers in every game. Then Ill be furious.)
  13. ="cooby"]That's great, look at all those old names...Zvon, can you find one of Hubie and Mookie together? (just them) yea, those old names are kool to see. Thats when the Mets square patched the names on the uniform backs. Not sure if they were being cheap or smart, with the turnover rate the way it was, lol. Hubie and Mook together? Does this count?>

    Twenty Years

="Yancy Street Gang"]="Zvon"]Certain players have to be there. If Omars as good a GM as I boast, he'll get em all.(even if thats not his job, lol) If Omar's in charge of planning the reunion, the only Met invited will be Rafael Santana. ZIIIIING!!!! lmao Raffy's back:
  15. Thats kool metirish. We get to see the cover of the Post every day.
  16. ="Yancy Street Gang"]The photo of Mrs. Wagner isn't bad, except, of course, for that intruding forehead. Who invited that guy? yea,.lets loose him.
  17. metirish wrote: Not a lot of pics besides that one on Google of Mookie, and of cats, seems that lots of peeps name their cats Mookie.. I have afew nice ones, but I wish I had more. Ill space em out over the week.
  18. metirish wrote: Samuel to helm Double-A squad The principal in one of the most unpopular trades in Mets history is rejoining the organization. Juan Samuel has been named manager of Double-A Binghamton. Samuel, who coached third base for the Tigers last season, is slated to be joined on the B-Mets staff by ex-Met John Valentin as hitting coach and Mark Brewer as pitching coach. Obtained from the Phillies for Lenny Dykstra and Roger McDowell on June 18, 1989, Samuel hit .228 with three homers in 333 at-bats as a Met. He signed with the Dodgers as a free agent that winter. Ex-'86 Mets Mookie Wilson and Tim Teufel, who managed at the Single-A level last year, have left the organization. Wally Backman had expressed interest in the Binghamton job. Adam Rubin Does that loosly translate into losing Mookie to Samuel? Wheres Bret the bitter bartender... BRET ! set em up. make mine a double.
  19. metirish wrote: No idea Cooby, maybe back trucking, it was in the Daily News today, him and Tim Tuefel are gone. just gone? *poof*? like that?
  20. Mookie it is.
