  1. LaRoche flies to left center for the sac fly that makes it 2-0. Cant let Jones make this a big inning. Shut em down Trax.
  2. Renteria makes us pay with a single to left center. Only one run scores though.............. bases still juiced.
  3. All three plays should have been outs^
  4. Ew---very ugly play by Delgado on the grounder to 1st off Aybar. A lead off error reaches. Then a bunt by the pitcher James gets by Wright and everyones safe! And then another bunt played off the mound by Trax, and he spins to throw and falls- all safe.......
  5. Rockin' Doc wrote: David Wright just misses a home run to left to lead off the second, but he gets gunned out at second by plenty. He did just miss one there. Looked like his hand came off and it ended as a one handed swing. And it was a bullet to the wall. Good quick play by Diaz in left, but Wright could have been running just a lil harder.
  6. Aside from another walk(to Francouer), Trachsel has a nice second. Nice to see David Wright out of his hitting funk but not nice to see him thrown out at 2nd. He smacked the ball off the wall in left, but he is cut down going for the duece.
  7. Chuck James sets em down 1-2-3. 2 pop ups and a K of Delgado. So Floyds tender again? I really hope he gets 100%. I want to see him hittin in the post season.
  8. Trax walks one in the 1st, but a DP ends the inning.
  9. SteveJRogers wrote: I mean like you said, for the 6th straight year the Mets will not be playing a single meaningfull game in September! HAhaHA. Great line ^
  10. Reyes: 1 LoDuca: 2 Beltran: .5 Delgado: 2 Wright: 1 Chavez: .5 Maine: 2 RHernandez: .7 Wagner: .3
  11. WOW-Howard launches one. Yep-we should keep runnin.
  12. Wright drives in CarlosB with a fly out to left. Phils relief pitcher Castro had a streak of 17 scoreless inning up to that point. Aint that ashame.
  13. Beltran hooks a wicked drive to the left field wall, towards the corner. A foot short of a homer as it smacks off the wall and past a circling Burrell for a double. And Beltran does his stealing 3rd base thing. Phils announcers are ticked off that Beltran should be doin that with a 5 run lead.
  14. Yancy Street Gang wrote: He mentioned that in the paper today. His black and blue cap is a little too big for him. He claims that his blue cap fits snugly, but he hasn't had a chance to wear it in a game yet. His head does look like a lil kids on an adults body tho, dont it? Proportioniatly?
  15. Yancy Street Gang wrote: Well, that would assume that the average inning has three batters, which is impossible, since that's the minimum. I wonder how many plate appearances there are in the average inning? I'd guess a little over four, but it's just a wild guess. This is where it get too much for me. Im horridable at anything mathish. Maine makes way for RHernandez with 1 out in the 7th

  17. Coste doubles over Greens head in this, the 7th, which is more than likely Maines last inning of work. Has Shawns head gotten smaller since he became a Met? He cant seem to keep from running out from under his cap. RHernadez is up.
  18. Yancy Street Gang wrote: Has anyone ever seen a stat that tells the average number of pitches that a batter sees during a plate appearance? I don't necessarily mean for a given pitcher, but for baseball as a whole? I believe that I just heard recently that 15 to 17 1/2 would be the average for pitches per inning. So-5 to 6 ?
  19. Maine with another incredibly smooth 1-2-3 inning. He got Burrell that time. Pat has 36 career homers against the Mets, one behind Barry Bombs. He has 17 at Shea.
  20. Victorino robs Green in dead center with an over the shoulder grab of his deep drive. Still 7-2 after five full.
  21. Johnny Dickshot wrote: Just a guess, but Burell must've been complicit, considering the descriptions of the sticky basepaths. I really thought it was just a flat out error- but I aint complainin. Ive had that triboom in my back pocket since the all star game.

  23. Maine with a nice 1-2-3 fifth, and the game is now official. 7-2 Mets.
