  2. Looks like its up to me. My 1st IGT, and before I started it the Mets were already losing. Not the way to start. Maine has a rocky 1st inning. Couplea singles, a walk-- but an error by Wright, a bad throw on a grounder that could have got the Mets out of the inning, is how the Dodgers score to open the game. Maine did strikeout 2 in the first. 2-0, LA

  4. 11368 was my zip code for many years. But I technically lived in Elmhurst. I bet its been all changed around since then (1977 I moved from NY)

I never set a league up myself- is there an option for using the catagory : no-hitters? that might work in a point league or H2H league, but in a rotisserie league having such a narrow category (the "winner" of the category would get 17 points for his 1 no-hitter while the other 16 teams would all get "8" with 0 no-hitters) would be very stupid. perhaps we'll look into a points league next year for variety if people are up for it. i would guess, though i havent checked, that yahoo isnt foolish enough to make that a category choice in rotisserie leagues. they may or may not have it as a choice in other leagues where it would make more sense. i'd be against it either way, even in a points league, as i feel it is too narrow and not even a meaningful category just an indication of luck (see Burnett's non-no in which he walked NINE batters.) if we did have a points league next year i wouldn't mind giving pitchers a bonus for a shutout. Yea, you're right. It would be silly. In rotisserie it doesnt fit the scoring format and in H2H it would only be a point. I know, at this point thisll sound stupid, but I cant say I completely understand the scoring in rotisserie. I read the Yahoo rules, it didnt help. I do enjoy H2H more than rotisserie. The scoring is simple for a simpleton like me, and every week is a new series. And there are playoffs! Im for splitting the CPF into two H2H leagues (makes for a much lower maintenence season) and having the two champs face off here on the board in some kind of competition.
  6. I never get any sound out of these - I do at U-tube but not here when they are posted. Shame--ill go look em up at the site.

Anibal Sanchez you really should get something extra for a no-no in fantasy scoring. I never set a league up myself- is there an option for using the catagory : no-hitters? In my head2head league we do have complete games, and at least you get one a those (youd be amazed how few there are- almost as many complete game losses as wins). Anyways, we're into the playoffs in the head2head league and I was gonna pick up Sanchez (Ive finally given up on Dontrell Willis there too) cuz his start dates fit my rotation well, but I opted to go with Josh Johnson instead. Next night he pitches the no-no. And Johnson lost badly last night. DatsAbaseball!

  9. seawolf17 wrote: Reyes actually slowed down a bit between first and second. He could have made it all the way back around to first again. The inside-the-park home run is AWESOME. I just saw the hightlights and yea- it was awsum. And he did slow down there as he watched the ball hit the wall...... but he was about to round second as the ball hit the wall. And then he went into overdrive. I think the inside the park homer is certainly a kaboom. A kaboom plus. A kaploom.
  10. some after game tidbits: ] Jose Reyes hit the first pitch he saw in the second game for his sixth leadoff homer of the season, setting a Mets record. ^shouldnt that just be "Met" record? Mets record? Yancy, your the Met or Mets record expert- whadoYaThink? ]It was New York's first doubleheader sweep at home since Aug. 15, 2000, against Colorado. Wow! ]The Mets had not swept a doubleheader from Atlanta since July 22, 1988. ^Somebody check that cuz its awfully hard to believe.
  11. Its funny but just this same sentiment occured to me watching the game smacked 3. I know Bonds has the official record, and I can accept that. And all the other juice fueled homer records. But in my mind itll be Howard who truley breaks the record,......if he gets there. And thats what Ill tell the kids when Im an old man.
  12. Reyes: 1 Green: 2 Franco: .5 Woodward: .5 Chavez: 1 Perez: 5

  14. Oliver Perez with a 5 hit complete game shut out. Ya gotta like that. Thats my lil happy dance^
  15. Another DP bails him out. I think theres more people here today than at Shea.
  16. Milledge does jack. Perez will start the 9th, and he is greeted with a line single off Marcus Giles bat.
  17. SteveJRogers wrote: Wonder if the guy who's level I'm at will let Perez go for the Complete Gamer lol. I say yea! Lastings will bat for Hernandez.
  18. Ive made my decision: If Perez will gimme 8 shutout innings every game I dont care if he does cartwheels over the foul line on his way off the mound. Does he get to go for the complete game here?
  19. Julio Franco-oldest man ever hit in the buttuck by a pitch.
