  1. Kid Carsey wrote: They mentioned the '64 Phils and said this would be worse if I heard them right. I'm too lazy to do the research tonight. Todays Post states otherwise, but truthfully, I don't trust their research dept. Im sure we will be hearing more in regards to the comparison during the next few days.
  2. To put it in ironic perspective, if the Mets do fold, it can only be the 2nd worst slide in the history of the game. The '64 Phils will still be the first worst. But that was then and this is now.
  3. He keeps it alive with a single. Gomez will run for him. 1st and 2nd..... CONINE! Thats a RBI single! WoooHooo! 9-8, 1st and 3rd, the Goat will bat for Feliciano...
  4. 2 out in the 9th and Green singles. He's 3 for 4. We have the tying run at the plate. Its Lo Duca.
  5. < I thought I made a Trachsel but Im looking, and I dont have one in my files. Guess I was thinking the Reed one was his. I am remiss. Phils have tied it on an exciting tag up. 3-3 there. Lets get to this Cordero guy.
  6. Kid Carsey wrote: Oh jeez Zvon, he was a foot or two from beating it out and a foot or two from not bunting it to the pitcher. Wish I could have seen it K.C. Im reading the game . Was waiting here for a description, none was forthcoming. Im afraid my frustration proceeds me. Wright hits into the DP. Phils have scored in the 6th and are down 3-2, but threatening. Pitching change there. Feliciano comes on and is greeted with a Fick single in the 8th.
  7. Castillo draws the walk. Your BIG here Mr Wright.
  8. Thats nice Reyes. Bunt it right back to the pitcher.
  9. Good job by Heilman. Ya think Yahoo could find anymore Howdy Doodyish pics of our pitchers?
  10. Munez relieves Rivera. Willie counters. Conine bats for Endy.
  11. ="Rockin' Doc"] Tight quad forces Alou's departure Veteran leaves Mets-Nats contest in top of fifth inning This hits me right in the nutz. Metswise, fantasywise. Ugh.
  12. I pictured Val sitting there in the 1st inning, telling everyone around him, "Now these are the Mets folks,..this is my first place team." Now I picture him hiding his head under the seat. Mota gets us out of that inning. Milledge will face Rivera to start the 7th.
  13. ="Nymr83"]="Rockin' Doc"] Maine must have slept through the players only meeting. Post of the day. Schoeneweis can't keep em down. Hard to believe we led this game 4-0 after one. 9-7 them.
  14. I didn't see that homer by Belliard, but I think I can picture the blast by fat ass in the playoffs last year in its place. Cards are threatening the Phils in the 3rd, 2 on, 1 out.
  15. Schoeneweis will take over for Maine. Oy. Actually he's the only one gettin it done the last few. But seeing Maine get beaten up like this is very distressing. Hearing that Alou may have hurt his leg again compounds that. Schoeneweis gets the DP grounder. Good job dude. Unbelievably 8-7.
  16. you have got to be kidding me... Belliard? Come ON!
  17. St Loo two. Phils one. in the 2nd. Cole Hamels will be limited to 65 pitches in that contest.
  18. Rockin' Doc wrote: Milledge is on to pinch run for Alou at second base. Alou didn't hurt his leg again, did he? I hope not.
  19. Thats a big run there. And there as Chavez drives in LoDuca. 7-3 Mets.
  20. Nats score and threaten more but only come away with the one. 5-3 Mets. Don't know how Maine looked that inning, but he didn't read well. Anyone who can see: Can we get 2-3-4 more innings out of Maine? Im loath to see any middle relievers tonight.
  21. Yep, the old team meetin' went down. ] Mets manager Willie Randolph said that some of his players came to him and asked to address the team. Randolph said he talked to his team "briefly" on Tuesday, then left the players alone when he came out to speak to the media. Players declined to discuss the meeting when they took the field for pre-game warmups, but Tom Glavine said earlier in the day that he might ask a few veterans to talk to the team
  22. Logan triples and scores on the Lopez sac fly. 5-2 Mets Coming on to pitch for the Nats, ex Metropolitan Mike Bacsik.
  23. We are into the Nat pen
