9-4 Nine to four NINE TO FOUR! Well, we are well into the Natty bullpen. Lets see if we can forget to hit as well as field.
-
="Johnny Dickshot"]jesushchrist ...its "jeezcrieese"
-
Maybe the boys are literally watching the scoreboard while on the field. 7-4 Nationals. 6-0 Phillies.
-
As Wright and Schoeneweis make errors, Rollins smacks one out.
-
...AND Aaron Rowand smacks a 2 run bomb that would have been gone in any ballpark. Phils have a 3-0 lead in the 4th.
-
UGH! 2 on, 1 out...you hope we will plate at least one.. Lo Duca lines into a DP. Lined to third, they get Alou off second.
-
Just got a phone call...HAHAHAHA! Mr. Met is at this moment appearing on NBC's Deal Or No Deal. Lets make this Alou hit count for something guys. Bring him around.
-
Schoeneweis comes on and does the job! Ks Batista who was pinch hitting for Fick. 5-4 Nats Coulda been way worse.
-
Sele walks Belliard. Phils get a bad break in St. Loo, as Utley doubles with Rollins on the move from 1st before the pitch. But the ball bounced over the wall and its a grounds rule double, and Rollins, who was crossing the plate, is sent back to third. The Phils phail to plate that run as the Cardinals get Burrell to pop out for the 3rd out of the inning.

Valadius wrote: Rod Carew, gotta be. Oh goddammit!!!!! DING! We have a winner. Nats have taken a 5-4 lead on our long man, and they might do worse damage. A Kearns double puts runners at 2nd and 3rd. 2 out.

Still 4-4 Mets. Chipper Jones is 3 fer 3 over there in Atlanta, and has taken over the NL lead in batting average. This will be a nice battle between him and that pesky Chase Utley for the batting crown. The last NL 2nd baseman to win a batting title was Jackie Robinson. Who was the last 2nd baseman in MLB to take the trophy?

Such details make me Ryan Howard just went yard in St Loo. 1-0 Phils.

And our long man will have a job to do.

Lawrence getting smacked around quite a bit in the 4th.

Bases fulla Nats, one out.

4-0 Mets in charge. Phils game getting underway in a few minutes. Kyle Kendrick, who was hit real bad with a line drive will be starting. I saw him get hit and figured he was out for at least a few weeks. How bout that?

Mendoza Line wrote: The argument that I don't usually see in favor of stolen bases is that the threat of a steal induces errors and other types of bad defensive plays. With a Rickey or a Reyes on first, the pitcher is more likely to balk or to make a bad pickoff throw to first base..... Point very well taken and demonstrated in tonights first inning.

Frayed Knot wrote: Already two mistakes on the bases -- we've just been lucky so far. 1) Reyes was picked off in the 1st (by a lot!) if the throw didn't go wide 2) LoDuca getting caught off 2nd base in the 2nd, a play which turned out not to matter because the Nats screwed up the run-down. Early HRs tend to cover up sloppy shit. So nothings changed but the breaks and we smacked one. huh.

Valadius wrote: He's topping out at 83 mph. Nats announcers - "you can put away the radar gun." Yikes. Hey, who needs speed... Eagles will be playing tonight, and the neighborhood is already starting to vibrate. Maybe that vibration was that double to left by Lo Duca. He's playing again. Im not complaining, I like him in there. But I am surprised.

When you feel you have a large enough sample, lemme know how Lawrence's stuff looks. That K of Zimmerman reads like "good stuff",lol.
-
DUH! That games at 8,lololol.

I was looking for the Phillies game here while Beltran popped that. Its listed as being on my Comcast sports channel, and its not.
